Hello, I am Captain Bill and a licensed master captain. Originally born in Iowa and raised on the Mississippi River. I've been fishing ever since I was a little kid. I caught the Bass fishing bug early in life. When I was younger, I found an old Johnson spoon in my father's tackle box, tied it on, and caught a Bass. Instantly hooked on fishing, my pursuit of a career in it was inevitable. Living on the river where his family owned a campground and bait shop, he has been putting people on fish for years. He has been married for 21 years and is a father of 4 and grandfather of 1. He heard about Headwaters Lake being open, so he moved to Florida to pursue his dream of being the first full-time fishing guide on Headwaters and now has a team of guides that work with him. Captain Bill and the team will help get you experience Headwaters and Stick Marsh like no other, producing beautiful trophy Largemouth Bass all day long. Also, enjoy fishing Winter Haven Chain of Lakes and the surrounding Central Florida Bass fisheries are his kingdom! Don't look any further, choose the sure thing by clicking the book now button now. Let's go catch some trophies that the others only talk about!

    great trip in terrible weather

    6-stündiger Bass-Angelausflug • 2 Erwachsene

it isnt ideal to head out in 40 degree weather to bass fish in florida. water temp was 52! Thats my luck when i plan a trip but we didnt let that stop us!…capt was still able to find some fish! we caught close to 10 bass and a couple chain pickerel (new species for me) we all made the most of the brutal wet cold winds that were blowing through every layer of clothing we had on and had some great conversations about fishing capt was bery knowledgeable and even offered up some tips that i plan to try in my local lakes. looking forward to another trip with more favorable conditions.

Great Day Fishing with Captain Bill!

    6-stündiger Ausflug • 2 Erwachsene

We had a great day of fishing on Headwaters with Captain Bill, boating over 40 bass! We threw some topwater lures a few places with no takers, but the fish loved the shiners. Jazz got his personal best and I came close. This is also a lovely place for bird and gator watching without any highway or construction noise.

    Great time on the water

    6-stündiger Ausflug • 2 Erwachsene • 1 Kind

Me and my 11 year old son had a blast catching fish with Captian Justin as our guide. I am glad we opted to go with live bait/ shiners as that brought in the most fish but we did get a few on artificial baits as well. 6 hours trip, almost 20 bass, I lost count. No fish over 4 pounds, but thats kind of how it goes some days. If your thinking of doing this, definitely go for 6 hours. 4 hours went by so fast and I was glad we got the extra time.

Great Trip! Lots of Bass! Entertaining Captain!

    4-stündiger Ausflug (Morgen) • 2 Erwachsene

Fished with Captain Chris Novak and we put a pretty good hurtin on em’. We probably caught around 25 total (lost count), the biggest just shy of 5 lbs. Chris kept entertained and on our toes with his funny and whitty sense of humor. He was also very flexible and allowed us to fish with live bait and use artificials. My father-in-law and I are excited to go book the trip again next time I’m in town or next time he has family come to visit.

Post spawn hammers on Headwaters

Apr. 27, 2026 • Fellsmere
Left tge dock this morning before the sun was up and pulled up to the first spot a few minutes later. I baited up a couple of shiners and with in a few seconds the Bass were chasing them out of the water. I had a father and his adult son on board, Bill and Jazz. They went to town on'em and put 40 Bass in the boat on a 6 hour trip. Jazz caught the biggest one weighing in at 6 pounds 6 ounces and Bill's big one went 5-1. Their best 5 went 24 and change.

Fish of a Life Time!

Mai 19, 2024 • Fellsmere
Set against the backdrop of the stunning Headwaters Lake, two avid anglers embarked on a thrilling 6-hour adventure with Captain Bill at the helm. They began their journey exploring the pristine waters near the cypress trees lining the eastern shore. Armed with topwater frogs and spinnerbaits, they cast their lines into the shallow waters, enticing explosive strikes from aggressive bass hiding in the shadows. Captain Bill guided them to the submerged brush piles scattered across the lake. Here, they switched to Texas-rigged plastic worms and swimbaits, carefully working the structure to coax out the lunker bass lurking below. Their persistence paid off when one angler hooked into a monstrous bass weighing an astonishing 10.2 pounds! The adrenaline-fueled battle had them on the edge of their seats as they fought to land the trophy fish. Not content to rest on their laurels, they continued their journey, exploring the open water near the dam. Here, they found schools of hungry bass feeding on baitfish. Using crankbaits and jerkbaits, they added several more quality fish to their tally, including several in the 5-8 pound range. As the morning drew to a close, the anglers reluctantly bid farewell to Headwaters Lake, their hearts still racing from the adrenaline-pumping battles and their minds filled with memories of trophy bass. With plans already in place for their next adventure, they knew that Headwaters Lake would forever hold a special place in their angling journey.

Lake Toho Still On Fire!

Apr. 8, 2024 • Kissimmee
Two anglers embarked on a thrilling 6-hour journey with Captain Mike on Lake Toho. They began by targeting the lily pads near Grassy Island, where the water was teeming with activity. Using topwater frogs and chatterbaits, they enticed explosive strikes from aggressive bass lurking beneath the vegetation. As the sun rose higher, Captain Mike guided them to the Kissimmee grass lines along the northern shoreline. Here, they switched to Texas-rigged plastic worms and crankbaits, probing the submerged structure for trophy bass. Their patience paid off when one angler hooked into a monster bass weighing an impressive 9.2 pounds! The adrenaline-pumping fight had them on the edge of their seats as they worked together to land the behemoth. Not content to rest on their laurels, they continued their quest, exploring the submerged hydrilla beds near Brown's Point. Here, they found schools of hungry bass eager to take their offerings. Using jigs and swimbaits, they added several more quality fish to their tally, including several in the 5-7 pound range. As the clock ticked towards noon, the anglers reluctantly bid farewell to Lake Toho, their arms tired but their spirits soaring. With memories of trophy bass and heart-pounding battles etched into their minds, they knew they would be back for more adrenaline-fueled adventures on these legendary waters.
