Epic Day on Good Hit 2.0 Sportfishing with Captain Pete 🎣

    Geteilter Ausflug2 Erwachsene

Good Hit 2.0 Sportfishing Review Had an awesome trip on Good Hit 2.0 Sportfishing with Captain Pete! Captain Pete had us hooked up on Bonita within the first 30 minutes, then we headed out trolling for Mahi. We ended up catching 7 Mahi and boated 5! The other two were a little too small to keep, but still an absolute blast. Captain Pete was extremely knowledgeable about the area and fishing in general. He talked with us throughout the entire trip, explained what was happening, and kept us informed on what we were doing and why. You could tell he genuinely knows his stuff and enjoys putting people on fish. If you’re on the fence about booking—don’t be! Captain Pete will take care of you and make sure you have a great time. We also did a shared trip and got lucky enough to meet some awesome people—Song, Steve, and Noah. Great people and a great day on the water! Highly recommend Good Hit 2.0 and Captain Pete! 🎣🌊🤙

    Awesome Day Out!!!

    Geteilter Ausflug1 Erwachsener

I had a great time on the boat, at first we didn’t catch anything but the end was totally worth it because we ended up catching a massive nurse shark by the end of our trip. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who loves sport fishing. And the Captain was super cool and nice, he felt bad that we didn’t catch anything in the beginning but I was happy to see him be relieved at the end of the trip when we caught the shark.

    Amazing catch

    geteilter Ausflug1 Erwachsener

I went on this fishing trip with three other people I had never met before, and it turned out to be a great experience. We all took turns, and the captain made sure everyone had an equal opportunity to fish. We ended up catching two barracudas, one blue runner, one kingfish, and even a 7-foot nurse shark. Since nurse sharks are a protected species, the captain made sure we released it safely back into the water. It was my first time fishing in Fort Lauderdale, and I’m really glad it turned out to be such a lucky day. We caught a lot of fish, had a great time, and I would definitely recommend this charter to anyone looking for a fun fishing experience!

    10 foot, 300# Hammerhead Shark

    Geteilter Ausflug1 Erwachsener

Captain spotted a hammerhead shark following a live bait. He said that it was only 20# test line. Could fight it for a long time and never get to see it. He quickly rigged another line with stronger line and leader. While getting that new line and bsit out there behind the boat, he was also reeling in the other lines away from the shark. The shark took the bait on the selected line and was brought to the boat. The captain was ready to detach the anchor of the boat and hang it on a buoy, so we could chase the shark, but didn't need to. It was said that 5 footers are relatively common, but a 10 footer is special.

    Best fishing trip ever

    geteilter Ausflug1 Erwachsener

Captain Alex and Nick gave us an unforgettable day on the water. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and worked nonstop to keep us on the fish. We ended up landing two huge jacks, a grouper, and snapper, and the action made the whole trip exciting from start to finish. They made everything easy, kept the energy high, and clearly knew exactly where to take us. Easily one of the best fishing trips we’ve had. I would recommend Captain Alex and Nick to anyone looking for a great charter and a crew that truly puts in the effort.

Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report: Offshore

Aug. 30, 2026 • Fort Lauderdale
The late-summer bite off Fort Lauderdale is holding exceptionally strong right now. We are seeing a fantastic mix of high-energy offshore action out in the deep water alongside aggressive moonlit runs right along the reef edge. Whether we are pushing past the drop-off or working the structure under the night sky, lines have been staying tight and the fish boxes have been filling up fast. Out in the deep water past the initial ledge, active schools of Mahi Mahi are holding steady around floating debris and organized weedlines. Trolling a mix of light lures and rigged ballyhoo in 600 to 1,200 feet of water has been the ticket to finding the packs. Once the fish fire up around the boat, switching over to light tackle live baits and cut bait produces fast-paced action. Anglers have been bringing home a great mix of bailer to gaffer sized fish, making for plenty of fresh fillets at the dock. Along the reef edge, the full moon period has shifted the fishing into high gear with a solid push of Wahoo moving through. We have been concentrating along the deep reef drop-offs in 120 to 250 feet, focusing on areas where heavy current collides with underwater structure. High-speed trolling with wire-rigged cowbells and dark skirts during the early morning and moonlit night runs has yielded violent strikes. Slow-trolling live goggle eyes on planer rigs right at dawn has also been highly effective, leading to screaming drags and heavy-weight fish on the deck. With clean water pushing in and steady current aligned right along the coast, both the offshore pelagic bite and reef trolling conditions are at their peak. Now is the time to get out on the water and experience the action firsthand. Check our calendar and secure your date on the boat while this bite remains hot!

Sizzling Florida Action: Mahi, Blackfin

Aug. 15, 2026 • Fort Lauderdale
Sizzling conditions off the coast have made recent charters with Good Hit Sport Fishing an absolute blast for our guests. Running out into the deep blue Gulf Stream, we located productive current rips and weed lines where trolling live baits and rigged ballyhoo yielded excellent Mahi Mahi action, putting plenty of colorful, hard-fighting fish into the cooler. Moving back in over the outer reef edges, the Blackfin Tuna bite proved electric during early morning drifts, offering aggressive surface strikes on vertical jigs and live bait for fantastic light-tackle fights. Deep over heavy structure, our anglers dropped heavy gear to lock into a giant Goliath Grouper, enduring a grueling tug-of-war to bring the creature up for quick photos before a clean release. The ultimate highlight came when a massive ten-foot Hammerhead Shark slammed our setup, ripping off long, blistering runs that tested our tackle before being safely handled and released alongside the boat. Whether you want to fill the cooler with fresh pelagics or test your strength against world-class big game, Good Hit Sport Fishing has you covered, so check our calendar on FishingBooker and book your date today!

Incredible 15-Foot Sawfish Released Off

Juli 25, 2026 • Fort Lauderdale
Our latest charter off the coast of Fort Lauderdale turned into an unforgettable day on the water. While we routinely target aggressive gamefish along the reefs and wrecks, this particular trip produced a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. Just a short run from the shore, a heavy bottom rig took a massive strike, and the angler on the rod immediately had their hands full with an extraordinary amount of drag-screaming power. After a grueling battle to bring the fish up through the water column, a giant Smalltooth Sawfish surfaced right alongside the vessel. The crew estimated the incredible prehistoric creature at roughly 15 feet from head to tail. Spotting a healthy specimen of this magnitude in the clear coastal waters of South Florida is a remarkably rare event and a true highlight for everyone on board. Because sawfish are a critically endangered species protected under strict state and federal guidelines, taking proper care during the handling process was our main focus. The fish was kept completely submerged in the water by the boat while the crew safely unhooked it. After a quick look at its impressive saw-like rostrum and a few photographs in the water, the giant swam away strong back into the Atlantic. This trip was a great reminder that you never truly know what is going to hit the bait when fishing the waters off Fort Lauderdale. Our charters run out of Bahia Mar Marina daily, fully stocked with top-quality gear for targeting everything from pelagic species out in the stream to heavy bottom dwellers on the reef.

Good Hit Sport Fishing Report: Fort Laud

Juni 7, 2026 • Fort Lauderdale
The summertime bite is officially in full swing off Fort Lauderdale and we have been running hard out of Bahia Mar to keep our anglers' rods bent. We have been hitting the local reefs, deep wrecks, and blue water over our last few outings. The ocean gave us an incredible mix of high-speed surface runs, beautiful color on the wrecks, and pure muscle in the deep water. Our Blackfin Tuna blitz has been spectacular with fish showing up consistently in the clean water lanes between 200 and 500 feet. Trolling small feathers and squid spoons has been the absolute ticket to triggering these line screamers. The highlight of the week was having a young angler step up to the plate on one of these trips. He handled a beautiful, hard-fighting Blackfin like an absolute pro, matching the fish turn for turn until we got it over the gunwale. Moments like that are exactly what family fishing is all about. When we shifted gears to work the deep wrecks, we struck silver by tricking a gorgeous African Pompano. Known for their brutal downward pulling power and stunning, mirror-like looks, these fish are an absolute trophy on light vertical jigs. They are fantastic on the table and even better for photos back at the dock. For the ultimate adrenaline rush, we also headed further out to target big game. June is prime time for apex predators off Fort Lauderdale, and the deep blue delivered a massive Dusky Shark. We rigged up the heavy tackle, and it turned into an epic, back-breaking tug of war before we brought the powerful predator alongside the boat for a clean release. While the summer bite is red hot, the ocean is throwing some challenges our way with a heavy push of Sargassum weed moving in along the coast. The key right now is finding the clean water lanes and open edges. When the weed is too thick on top for a clean troll, we pivot immediately to deep-dropping on the wrecks or drifting live baits where we can control the presentation. We are utilizing light surface trolling rigs for the Blackfins, heavy vertical jigs for the wreck residents, and 80 to 100-pound test heavy tackle for the big game sharks. Whether you want to watch your kids reel in their very first gamefish, hook a silver trophy on the wrecks, or test your strength against a giant shark, the local waters are producing right now.

Massive Tiger Shark and Bull Mahi Rule t

Mai 17, 2026 • Fort Lauderdale
We started the trip hunting the blue water edges looking for weed lines and bird activity, and it didn't take long before we found a school of hungry Mahi Mahi. The ocean came alive with flashes of neon green and electric blue as multiple rods went off at once, bringing a beautiful haul of hard-fighting schoolies and a few heavy, tournament-sized Bull Mahi over the gunwales. Mahi are the ultimate crowd-pleaser for a charter because they jump high, put up a spectacular fight, and make for an unbelievable dinner after the trip. Once the fish box was looking healthy, we shifted gears to look for a real sea monster, dropping a heavy live bait rig into the deep. When the line finally started peeling, we knew instantly we were dealing with an absolute powerhouse. The drag screamed as a massive Tiger Shark pulled our group into a grueling, hour-long battle of heavy-duty tug-of-war that tested our tackle to the absolute limit. After an incredible team effort on deck, we finally brought the apex predator alongside the boat to admire its distinct dark stripes before safely releasing the beast to fight another day. From high-flying, colorful meat fish to a prehistoric giant, this is exactly what South Florida offshore sportfishing is all about—the bite is hot right now, so click Book Now on our profile to secure your date and catch your own story!

From Michigan to the Record Books: A 12

Mai 12, 2026 • Fort Lauderdale
Our recent charter with Good Hit Sport Fishing turned into a day that none of us will ever forget. We had the pleasure of hosting 12 year old Noah VanAmeyden and his family, who traveled all the way from West Michigan to experience the world class fishing here in Fort Lauderdale. What started as a quest for some South Florida action quickly transformed into a historic event. The Battle of a Lifetime Not long into the trip, Noah hooked into something that clearly outmatched the typical local catch. This was not just another fish on the line. It was a massive, powerful predator that pushed the young angler to his limits. For 45 minutes, Noah displayed incredible skill and stamina, fighting a fish that many grown men would struggle to land. As the fish finally neared the surface, the crew and family were stunned to identify it. Noah had managed to reel in a Great White Shark. A Rare South Florida Moment Seeing a Great White off the coast of Fort Lauderdale is an exceptionally rare occurrence. These legendary apex predators are not common sights in our local waters, making Noah’s achievement even more impressive. After confirming the species and sharing a moment of pure disbelief and excitement, the shark was safely released to continue its journey through the Atlantic. Noah’s composure during such a high stakes battle was a privilege to witness. It is not every day that a 12 year old goes home with a story that makes national headlines.
