    Toller Tag, tolles Angeln, tolles Team. Wir konnten keinen Marlin fangen, aber dafür richtig guten Thunfisch. Sehr spaßiger Ausflug!

Skipjacks and 523lbs blue marlin

Aug. 2, 2015 • Grande Riviere Noire
Great day for these first time fishermen. Started at 07h00 and after one hour, we came across hundreds of birds following a school of Skipjacks and as soon as we reached the school six of nine lines out started screaming and the action was on. Skipjacks everywhere and our customers were having fun. After a while and having caught around 15 Skipjacks, everything went quiet, could still see the birds and Skipjacks jumping around but no more bites....We did not give up and after one hour of moving around the school, we suddenly noticed a nice black shadow behind the teaser, no doubt it was a marlin! It left the teaser and went straight towards the lure on the shotgun and swallowed the lure straight away. The battle was on and after one and a half hour, it was done for these first time fishermen but it was not that easy for them. And the scale accused 523lbs for this nice blue marlin.

Black marlin, yellowfin and bonito

Juni 14, 2015 • Grande Riviere Noire
Started at 09h00 and went north for a change this time. Lot of rain and windy for the next three hours and no activity at the surface so we went to a nearby FAD and found lots of birds around. There we managed to catch seven yellowfin and three bonito and lost a few more. Customers were very happy as this was their first experience at sea. So we headed back slowly with a few lures at the back when suddenly at about 45minutes from the harbour the elastic on the short rigger snapped and that black marlin started jumping everywhere behind. After 30 minutes the fish was caught. Great day again on the Hooker 1.

Non stop action

Went for a night trip on Friday 06 june with some local customers. What a great time, non stop action with dogtooth tuna, trevally, , snapper, groupers and other bottom fish.

Another good day fishing on Hooker 1. Starting with some yellow fin and then found some dorados and managed to catch 10 nice dorados. And about one hour before coming back at around 5 miles from the harbour we caught a striped marlin.
