Captain Mike Gerlach Jr was raised in Melbourne Beach, FL and has devoted his life to fishing the inland and offshore waters surrounding the Sebastian Inlet. At a young age, he spent his days in the flats of the Indian River Lagoon and Sebastian Inlet until he was old enough to venture offshore and develop his passion for trolling and bottom fishing. Mike and his captains are US Coast Guard licensed and insured and strive to put their clients on trophy fish.

    Excellent Day Offshore with a Hard-Working Crew

    We had an amazing 6 hour am offshore trip with Kracken Charters! The captain and his mate worked hard to keep us on the fish and were quick to move when the bite slowed. Everyone had a great time, and we ended up with a beautiful mix of mangrove snapper, lane snapper, cobia, triggerfish, and other species. They even took the extra time to run the weedline in search of tripletail, which we really appreciated. The boat ran smoothly, the atmosphere was relaxed, and it was clear both the captain and mate really knew their waters. Highly recommend this charter for anyone looking for a productive and fun day on the ocean!

    Blue Water Day

    We went blue water bottom fishing this past Sunday. The guide John was amazing. He had us on fish all day to the point I think the 4 of us tired him out. At one point we had 4 fish on, and we did catch an amazing Goliath grouper to heavy to lift in to the boat. We also caught lots of red snapper and some trigger fish. I would highly recommend kracking down charters. They did what they said they would. Thanks Mike and John.

    18th birthday trip for my son and his friends

    All six boys caught several kingfish and they got one mahi. One of the boys caught onto a sail fish, but couldn’t get it to the boat. This is the second time booking with Kraken! Highly recommend!

    awesome trip, caught a boat load! He kept us on fish for the day. he cleaned, separated and bagged our catch! we’ll use him again!!
