Awesome 1/2 day - caught Sailfish
This was my 1st time charter ocean fishing and it was Awesome! It was with my 10 & 12 yr old boys and brother in law Had thought we’d end up fishing close to shore for some good eating yellow tail snapper or grouper. Turns out those are not typical in this area Instead - the Captain told us we’d be into sail fish and was he ever right on I hooked and lost one right away and a while later my 10 yr old fought and brought one - a 90 inch sailfish - alongside the boat but we didn’t get a clear photo as by the time we got positioned- it dove again. Captain Tom again had a hold (for the 2nd time) on the leader of what he called a “trophy” & bigger than any he had ever 1st hand had experienced The video we have shows the front end of the fish out of the water - it’s impressively huge Finally - within 10ft of the boat - the steel leader next to the hook snapped What a day! What a great experience with young Captain Thomas jr !
