Fine charter captain, i think he was more disappointed about not us not catching anything but string rays then we were. We plan on meeting up with him again next spring.
We took a 1/2 day morning charter on Reel Lucky OBX with Captain Patrick at the helm. It was a fantastic experience. There were fish aplenty (everyone caught multiple fish). It’s a beautiful way to experience the Sound side of the OBX, take a break from the beach and do some fishing. Reel Lucky was a great boat, with plenty of room for my family of four. Captain Patrick couldn’t have been more friendly, entertaining and knowledgeable about fishing the area. Captain Patrick was also great with our teens — very encouraging and a great coach. This charter with Reel Lucky OBX was a great experience for our family’s first fishing charter (of course catching a lot of fish helped). I highly recommend Reel Lucky OBX and Captain Patrick for a great fishing experience in the OBX Sound.

Captain patches took myself my son and my eight-year-old grandson out on the Pimlico sound on a beautiful morning last Thursday. We spent the first hour catching live bait where my grandson actually caught more than 40 Croakers!!! Although we didn’t catch any keepers it was a fantastic day where I learned much about fishing techniques and different types of terminal tackle. I highly recommend this charter as Patches is very very good with children! Hope to see him again next year

"Capt Patches" told me that it was NOT a "sure thing" to catch a Cobia, but he was willing to take me out to let me take a stab at it - and he did not let me down!!! First time ever fishing for Cobia, and Capt patches put some miles on he boat to make sure to get me to where the fish were. The day was perfect - and I landed a 53 lb Cobia, worthy of a certificate from the State of NC for a Cobia over 40 lbs!!

We booked the trip on a day with great weather. And captain Patrick provided a great day of fishing. We stayed on the fish the whole time. I plan on calling him the next time we come down.
