The water was calm and conditions were nice for kids.
Bottom fishing was more productive than trawling, which the captain warned us about. But we chose to do trawling for most of the trip as that is what my son had his heart set on.
Apparently the season for big game fishing ends around March, so we were a little ambitious trying in April.

Possibly not for those who do not like choppy seas, unless a very calm day. Very sunny and hot out on the boat, although there is plenty of shade. But bring plenty of sun cream, hats and wicking fabric tops if you want to sit out at the back king term.

The sea isn’t as calm as it is at other times of the year but if you are used to fishing like we are, it’s no problem at all. We caught plenty through jigging and ground fishing.
