First off, David was AMAZING! Before even booking, he responded quickly and answered all questions that I had. Once booked, he still responded quickly with honesty about what to expect and how he was watching the weather for us since it was set to storm(this in itself made me feel comfy and like I made a great choice). Once we arrived, the weather cleared and was perfect and I could quickly tell how knowledgeable he is about fishing! He was patient with my teenage son and took us to several spots so that my son could catch specifically what he was looking for. Our highlight was catching a MASSIVE red snapper and Amberjack which he got pretty cool pics of which made it totally worth it! David fileted our haul and recommended the best local spots for our ‘catch and cook’ which was delicious ! We definitely will be back again!!!

The boat was very comfortable even in higher seas; we stayed dry.
Attentive: he knew just the right time and level of care with my wife and I. It was our first offshore experience. Kept us with the poles in the water! We caught a lot of fish. We did the 6-hour shipwrecks and reefs.
Captain David Plants is extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot. There were other boats in the area not catching, but we were. He knows the spots!!

We were on fish as soon as we got to the first spot. Captain David put us on Snapper and then we went and got some good looking amberjack.He really tried accomplishing getting any fish you asked him I asked for more of a fight than some of my family. He put me on two amberjack that worked for 15 minutes a piece. Then he wasn’t satisfied with us not having completely full cooler so he went trolling with us and got us another fish before we went back instead of just going back to make sure we didn’t bust time. I would fish with him again any time. I can’t wait to do a tuna trip to the oil rigs in the future, absolutely worth every penny. He also has great recommendations on food to cook up the meals you catch.

We had a great time. From beginning to end the captain was super nice and friendly, he explained everything clear and in detail and gave tips throughout. he took us to a number of spots and we caught fish at every one (we would’ve had more if it weren’t for the dolphins stealing from us). 10/10 experience. Would definitely recommend and the next time we charter a trip out, we’re 100% going with him again!

We caught our limit of red snappers, and then plenty of almaco jack, ramora, and vermillion snapper. Captain Dave was great with our teenage son, an avid fisherman, and our teenage daughter who was less experienced. The whole family each caught several fish. The meeting location was easy to find. I highly recommend the trip!
