Epic 4-Hour Blue Marlin Battle – A True

Résumé du voyage

On the afternoon of July 8, we headed toward the Lighthouse, working the Pacific coastline. Just after passing Pedregal, we deployed our trolling spread. Moments after putting the first lure in the water, a sailfish appeared behind one of our “Guacamayo” lures, then switched its attention to the rigger bait. In an instant, everything changed. Before the sailfish could take the bait, a massive blue marlin charged in and inhaled the rigger bait, delivering an explosive hookup that would become one of the most memorable battles of the season. Thinking it was initially a sailfish, we were quickly proven wrong when, only 10 minutes into the fight, the blue marlin launched into nine spectacular full-body jumps, clearing the water each time before making a powerful run to the south. After one hour, we managed to bring the fish close enough to grab the leader, but the marlin erupted again, launching out of the water and peeling line off the reel in another blistering run. Forty minutes later, we had the fish within 4 meters of the boat, but despite changing the boat’s angle and applying different techniques, the marlin refused to surrender. It made another run, shorter than the previous ones, and within 15 minutes we worked it back alongside. The battle continued until, after an incredible four-hour fight, patience, teamwork, and multiple fighting strategies finally paid off. We successfully brought the magnificent blue marlin to the boat, completing one of the most epic catches of the year. ⸻ Conditions: * Excellent afternoon blue-water conditions * Strong Pacific currents * Aggressive billfish activity near Pedregal * Perfect conditions for trophy blue marlin ⸻ Summary: An unforgettable offshore adventure featuring: * ? 1 trophy blue marlin landed * ⏱️ 4-hour battle * ? 9 spectacular aerial jumps * ? Multiple powerful runs and leader attempts A once-in-a-lifetime catch that perfectly showcases why Cabo San Lucas is one of the world’s premier destinations for blue marlin fishing. This was a true test of skill, endurance, and teamwork—an unforgettable battle that every angler dreams of experiencing. ?????

Blue Marlin Success After Chasing Yellow
Blue Marlin Success After Chasing Yellow
juillet 9, 2026
On July 9, we departed Cabo San Lucas running a heading of 180°. Upon reaching approximately 9 miles offshore, we turned east after locating schools of yellowfin tuna feeding on flying fish. We spent considerable time working the area, trying multiple techniques to entice the tuna. We trolled Cedar Plugs, Hoochies, Petrolero lures, Rapalas, and even switched to live bait, but despite the abundance of tuna on the surface, they remained extremely selective and we were unable to hook one. After deciding to leave the tuna schools and change locations, the trip took an exciting turn. Just five minutes later, a blue marlin aggressively struck a Petrolero lure, setting off a powerful fight. The marlin battled hard for approximately 30 minutes before tiring. As the fish had unfortunately died during the fight, we carefully brought it aboard by hand. We then returned to Cabo San Lucas Marina with a beautiful blue marlin, ending the day with an impressive trophy despite the challenging tuna bite. ⸻ Conditions: * Active schools of yellowfin tuna feeding on flying fish * Excellent offshore blue-water conditions * Selective tuna bite despite multiple presentations * Strong blue marlin activity offshore ⸻ Summary: An exciting offshore trip featuring: * 1 blue marlin landed * Multiple active schools of yellowfin tuna located * Cedar Plugs, Hoochies, Rapalas, trolling lures, and live bait all deployed Although the yellowfin tuna refused to bite, persistence paid off with an outstanding blue marlin, making for another memorable day in the legendary waters of Cabo San Lucas. ????

Epic Offshore Action – Triple Striped Ma
Epic Offshore Action – Triple Striped Ma

July 2, ADRENALINA departed Cabo San Lucas heading south. Just 3 miles offshore, we spotted a striped marlin tailing on the surface. We pitched a live bait to the fish, but despite several presentations, it refused to bite. Continuing along the same course, at approximately 4.5 miles offshore, the action picked up quickly when two mahi mahi struck simultaneously—one on a ballyhoo rigged bait (rigger bait) and the other on a pink Hoochie lure. Both fish were successfully landed. As we brought the first mahi mahi aboard, another striped marlin appeared on the surface. We immediately pitched a live bait, and the marlin aggressively ate it, creating an exciting simultaneous fight with the remaining mahi mahi. Both fish were successfully landed, with the marlin released in healthy condition. We continued trolling before starting our return to Cabo. As we were retrieving the trolling lures and baits, a school of striped marlin suddenly appeared behind the spread. Two fish struck almost at the same time, resulting in an incredible double marlin hookup. After exciting battles, both striped marlin were successfully released. ⸻ Conditions: * Excellent blue-water conditions * Outstanding surface marlin activity * Strong mahi mahi bite * Ideal offshore trolling conditions ⸻ Summary: An unforgettable offshore trip featuring: * 2 mahi mahi landed * 3 striped marlin caught and released * 1 double mahi mahi hookup * 1 double striped marlin hookup A spectacular day aboard ADRENALINA, with nonstop action and multiple simultaneous hookups, highlighting the incredible summer fishing currently taking place in Cabo San Lucas. ????
