Captain Rio Adventures 

Captain leaves from his house on Marco Island which made it extremely convenient from our house on Marco Island. We started out navigating out of the canals into mangroves where we immediately set to catching fish for bait. In 30 minutes my son and I each had caught over 5 fish each including catfish, snook, mangrove snapper. We then moved on to a deeper fishing spot to go for the big fish. We both caught Goliath Grouper. We had to cut our trip a little short because of the rain but by the end of the day we each had caught over 11 fish each. Great day of fishing. My son had a blast

With no set agenda and no plans, we decided on the second to last day of our Marco Island vacation to try for a charter the morning we were to leave for home. Although not impossible, we knew it was a long shot. Imagine our surprise when we were able to book Captain Rio for a two hour inshore charter. That sent us over the moon; my wife and I love to fish and it fit right into our day. Communicating with Capt. Rio was easy and informative, and when we arrived the next morning, we found a friendly and personable captain, the boat clean, and gear ready to fish. As we motored out to open water, Capt. Rio entertained us with stories and jokes, making us fast friends. Even as the water was calm, my wife was a little queasy and he was more than accommodating on the throttle. As we eased up to each spot, we immediately started catching fish. Snapper, grouper, and even pigfish. Our lines were never without bait, our rods always bent under the weight of a fish. As we motored back, we were joined by two dolphins as Capt. Rio’s boat provided the wake for their surfing fun. From his stories to his jokes, to his knowledge of the water and fishing expertise, we thoroughly enjoyed our time on his boat. Do we plan to vacation in Marco again? Certainly. But not without booking with Capt. Rio again. See you soon, Rio.

Been to Marco a few times but never went fishing while here. My son and I decided this would be the trip. Captain Rio was amazing. You could tell he was knowledgeable and experienced right from the start. He put us on fish right right away. I mentioned to Captain Rio that I had never caught a Grouper and would like to catch one if possible, sure enough he took us right to one of his spots and within 10 minutes we had a nice Grouper in the boat. Even more important than that, he was great with my son. I highly recommend Captain Rio and will definitely be reaching out to him next time we are in Marco!!

We had an amazing experience with Captain Rio! From start to finish, he went above and beyond to make sure everyone in our family had a great time, especially our children. He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and friendly, making beginner fishers feel comfortable and confident, while keeping safety a top priority.
