On the Pacific coast of Costa Rica since the 1970s, Randy Wilson pioneered sportfishing in this area with Tamarindo Sportfishing. Located close to the deep water, Tamarindo is the perfect base of operation. Spectacular year-round fishing for Sailfish, Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Wahoo, and assorted other inshore species are all accessible with a short run time. Spend your day fishing, not running to where the fish are!
The 'Talking Fish' is our 38' Topaz Express with fast twin 671 Detroit diesels and lots of comfortable seating in the shade. The boat has a tower, a large cockpit area with a full-size fighting chair and full electronics. Bring your music and hook it up to the sound system.
With Captain Arturo Rosales at the helm and mates Javier and Honorio on deck, you are in for a great day on the water. They are all experienced, fun and knowledgeable and speak English. Fishing is their passion, and they work hard so you'll have the experience of a lifetime!
All equipment is Penn International and Shimano tackle. We are happy to accommodate experienced anglers as well as families and novices of all ages.
Conservation of the resource is important, and we use techniques to make sure the billfish are released unharmed. With edible fish, the crew is happy to keep your catch filleted and on ice for the day so you can have it cooked at one of Tamarindo's many superb restaurants. We look forward to taking you fishing!

Eravamo in 4 adulti e 3 bambini (13, 13 e 10 anni). Durante la nostra uscita di pesca di 3/4 giornata abbiamo preso un marlin, un pesce vela e un bel po' di cernie e scorfani! Dicembre non è il mese migliore per la pesca in Costa Rica, quindi le nostre aspettative non erano altissime, eppure siamo rimasti a bocca aperta. Le onde erano solo di 30-45 cm. La barca era molto spaziosa e il bagno era più grande del previsto e molto pulito. Non era la barca più nuova o più veloce in acqua, ma abbiamo portato a bordo più pesce di qualsiasi altra barca più lussuosa, e questo era ciò che contava di più per noi! L'equipaggio era competente e parlava un ottimo inglese. Il cibo era fresco e le bevande abbondanti.
L'equipaggio è stato molto gentile e disponibile, andando ben oltre le aspettative. Il capitano ci ha portato sui pesci.

Abbiamo pescato venerdì 8/2/2024 con il Capitano Arturo, Orandeo e Jose. Il capitano è stato fantastico: ci ha accolto al molo quando siamo arrivati e ci ha chiesto cosa volevamo pescare e che tipo di pesca preferivamo. Eravamo una famiglia di quattro persone sulla barca 'Talking Fish' e, poiché i miei figli avevano pescato solo poche volte, abbiamo deciso di pescare sulla barriera corallina per tonno e skipjack tuna. In 20 minuti eravamo sulla barriera corallina e nel giro di 45 minuti avevamo già diversi yellowtail (da 9 chili circa) a bordo. L'equipaggio è poi passato alla pesca a fondo per cobia e red snapper. Abbiamo combattuto tre volte dopo aver agganciato un blacktip shark e un bull shark. Poi abbiamo fatto traina per tonno pinna gialla di taglia media/piccola, agganciando 5 canne contemporaneamente per noi quattro. Dopo di che ci siamo spinti più al largo in altura per i pesci a rostro. È stata davvero una delle migliori giornate in acqua che abbia mai vissuto per un'uscita di pesca di mezza giornata e, sinceramente, l'equipaggio più attento e disponibile con cui abbia mai avuto il privilegio di fare un charter. Non posso raccomandare abbastanza Arturo e il suo equipaggio.
