Reel Grit Sportfishing is your go to charter for both families and first time fishermen as well as novice anglers alike. With over 20 years of experience fishing Cape Cod Bay's waters, Captain Scott Graf guarantees a good time for all onboard. As a teacher during the school year, Capt. Scott is ready and willing to teach both new and young anglers on board.
The Reel Grit is a 38' custom built Young Brothers boat that was restored in 2016. She is equipped with a 500 HP Diesel engine to allow for a comfortable 14-15 knots cruising speed. With an ample amount of cabin space out of the elements, all customers will be comfortable no matter what the weather conditions are. The Reel Grit is fully equipped with all up-to-date electronics as well as bunks down below and a clean head (toilet).
During the height of the season, most trips are targeting Striped Bass and Bluefish but there are a number of other species you can target both on the shoulder seasons as well as during the summer. Being a centrally located harbor on Cape Cod Bay, it is usually not more than a 30-minute ride to the fishing grounds for our Bass and Bluefish trips. You can also stay inshore and target bottom species such as Flounder, Tautog and Black Seabass.
You can count on a clean vessel that is family friendly. All fishing equipment, as well as your licenses are included in the price.

When we called around looking for charters to do with the family, Reel Grit was the one name mentioned multiple times as a must do. Happy to say they were not wrong! Captain Scott and his mate were friendly, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. The whole family got to make multiple catches, and they made sure everyone was safe in the process. With their talent and our maxed out haul of catches, we will definitely be back on this boat soon!

Captain Scott is by far the best captain we have encountered in our years of fishing. He and his mate were professional, knowledgeable, and engaging. Captain Scott put us right on the fish. He and his mate recognized that we knew how to fish and didn't treat us like novices, like many other charters. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to book with Captain Scott again.

Excellent Family Fishing Trip

I took my four teenagers for a four hour trip and all we did was catch fish after fish, the entire trip. I think we caught about 14 striped bass total. What fun!
The captain was very friendly and his first mate was outstanding. The first mate, while quite young, was very knowledgeable and very hardworking. He did a very nice job cleaning our fish at the end.
I highly recommend using Reel Grit.

Great trip on July 25th with Capt. Scott and his crew Kevin. They know what they are doing and how to get you on the fish. His first question was do you want do you want fish in the slot, or bigger ones. I think you know what we picked, and he was right... going out again soon.

Cap and crew were both top notch. Chased the fish around and had some awesome successes. We had two kids - aged 8 and 10 - along for the trip and they also enjoyed it immensely. Would recommend to anyone looking - esp with kids - the boat is big and smooth and comfortable.
