Our halibut fishing trip was hands down one of the best experiences of our entire Alaska vacation! Captain Josh was absolutely amazing knowledgeable, professional, patient, and so much fun to spend the day with. Josh knew exactly where to take us. We barely went five minutes without having fish on, and at times we had four fish hooked at once! The action was nonstop, and Josh worked incredibly hard to make sure everyone had an amazing experience. He was always ready to help, kept everything running smoothly, and made the entire trip exciting from start to finish. It was clear that Josh truly knows these waters and loves his job (yaab)! We felt safe and comfortable the entire time, and his personality made the experience even better. He was genuinely the best captain we could have asked for. If you are looking for a halibut fishing charter in Icy Strait Point/Hoonah, book with Captain Josh. You will not regret it! We cannot recommend him highly enough and would fish with him again in a heartbeat.

Captain Herm showed us a great time! You never lnow when you book a trip like this what to expect. He was demonstrating to us how to jig and upon dropping the first line at nearly 200’ he had hooked our first. He was so relaxed at that point I knew he knew we’d have a good morning. We caught our limit quickly, rhen did some catxh and release before searching for wildlife with the rear of our time. Great experience, highly recommend!

Make sure you acquire alaska fishing license in advance. Keeping fish is logistically (and financially) a little tougher in icy straight point but was delivered in great shape. great day of fishing and sightseeing (like paying for a whale tour but also getting some great fishing).

Our captain Josh put us on fish in 1 minute after we threw our line in. Josh was a lot of fun.

Captain Jared, aka Sharktooth, put us on a right good time in Icy Straight. he was prompt, professional, and very fun to fish with. We had a really incredible experience trolling for coho, dropping for halibut, and pulling some crab traps. Jared was great with our young anglers (5 and 7 year olds) and everyone got on fish. We ended the trip with a heavy cooler and a bonus orca sighting! Amazing trip!

i was worried that being a shared boat that it was going to be crowded or having to share poles, the only problem was having to share the captain because we where bring fish up to fast and filling the boat lol, it was an amazing experience and will definitely come back someday

Jarred was so great. He put us on the fish. We all caught so many Halibut we couldn’t reel more fish. We also saw sea lions, bald eagles, otters, and whales. There were 5 of us and everyone had a blast. We all love Jarred
