Calendario
Catfish fishing in Colorado, United States is all about warm-water action in a mountain state. Most anglers target Channel Catfish in reservoirs and slow rivers. These fish fight hard, grow big, and bite well after sunset in summer.
Bottom fishing is the go-to here. Use stink bait, cut bait, or nightcrawlers on a simple sinker rig. Cast near drop-offs, riprap, or creek mouths. For bigger fish, try fresh cut bait. In a few southeast waters, guides may use live bait for Flathead Catfish, which prefer larger meals.
Guided trips usually run on stable lake boats or river-ready craft. The ride is short, and the fishing is close to shore or near structure. Families, beginners, and night owls all enjoy these calm-water outings. Bring a hat, sunblock, snacks, and a jacket, as mountain weather changes fast. A small cooler is handy if keeping fish is allowed. Your guide will provide tackle and local know-how.
Top areas include Front Range reservoirs like Pueblo Reservoir, Chatfield Reservoir, and Cherry Creek Reservoir. Eastern Plains waters such as Jackson Lake and John Martin Reservoir also produce steady bites. The lower South Platte and Arkansas River offer good river fishing, with deeper holes and undercut banks holding fish. Backwaters along the Colorado River warm early and can be productive in late spring and summer.
Before your trip, check Colorado Parks and Wildlife rules. Confirm your fishing license, and review any permit needs, harvest limits, and night-fishing guidelines. Many ramps have aquatic invasive species inspections, so plan extra time for boat checks.

Unforgettable Father/Son Fishing Trip
Jed took my father and I on a morning fishing trip. He is one of the most down to earth friendliest guys I’ve met. Very easy to get along with. He is very knowledgable about the fishing and the history around the lake. We had NON STOP ACTION catching trout, walleye, white bass, and perch. We even hooked up and landed some awesome big fun fighting fish such as catfish and carp. I highly recommend booking a trip with him, I know I will when I am back! Thanks again Jed!

A great experience; a super fun afternoon
Captain Shawn was wonderful! He made sure we had a great afternoon. The setting, scenery, and wildlife were cool, and he worked very hard to ensure we all caught bass, which we all did. He was professional, friendly, and kind. I highly recommend him.
