Booked a 1/2 day outing and from the bet there was great communication from the skipper. If not for his follow up messages we would’ve missed our trip since I had the days wrong!

We left the dock on time on an excellent vessel and along the way the captain let us know what we could expect due to conditions. We were prepared to have a slow day but once at the spot we started catching fish immediately. He gave great direction and had us fighting fish in no time. We caught lots of Spanish mackerel and bluefish. He got us a great guy to meet us at the dock and clean our catch, too.

Great day, great trip. Will definitely book again and highly recommend Captain Ryan and the X-Spearmint!

First time for my family trying this type of trip.  Have been coming to the outer banks for years a kept saying “we should try that.”. This year we finally did.

We were very pleased.  The captain knew we new to this.  He took the time to explain the equipment, talk basic fishing strategy and overall tactics.  He likes what he is doing and it comes through in his actions.

The boat is clean, well maintained and he really knows how to operate it.

He found fish for us without any problem.  Ribbon and mackerel.  He knew the waters.  Saw an 1800’s ship wreck and other area history.  Sea turtles and dolphins filled in the time between fish on.  He even told us about the Air force and Marine jets flying over.

My oldest wanted to know about the engines and navigation equipment and the captain was willing to answer all his questions.

Overall, this was a really pleasant trip.  We learned, we had fun and we caught a fair number of fish.

I will recommend this boat and captain to my friends.
