5 Hour Trip – Pro Bass Fishing (AM) • 1 adultoClark Moore took me out as Ken wasn't available. I've fished a lot of other species all over, but never had much experience with Bass in Southern U.S. so this was training for me on baitcasting, Bass baits, and technique. Clark was outstanding and we caught a lot of fish in 5 hrs on several rigs. Today, I was back out on Sam Rayburn myself and caught many more. Great experience! Very highly recommend Clark.

8 Hr Trip – Pro Bass Fishing • 2 adultiOn the morning of June 3, 2022, my son, Logan, and I enjoyed the unique pleasure of celebrating his 21st birthday by joining Captain Kenneth Cates for a morning of bass fishing on Lake Rayburn. Logan and I are novice fishermen at best, yet Ken treated us as though we were seasoned semi-pros who knew the ins-and-outs of experimenting with a wide-array of top-line rods, reels, and interesting looking artificial bait. I must admit that I personally snagged more overhanging tree branches and underwater brush than I did fish. This said, Captain Ken is a consummate professional whose enthusiasm, patience, kindness, and encouragement made for a spectacular morning of fishing and friendship. 5 hour Crappie Pontoon Fishing • 2 adultiFishing turned on first thing in am . It got tougher to connect after around 11 am , Capt ken never gave up and , we covered a lot of different places on the lake . we caught a lot of fish . It was a great experience and would highly recommend and I will go again . I have fished Sam Rayburn a lot in my life and I learned things about lake and different tackle I did not know . Top water frogs are Hot !! Off the chart action, bug fish ! Yes its hit out there, but were starting at 6 am sharp, doing a 6 hour trip till 12, down priced to 300, getting off the lake at 12, beating the heat an boating the big ones, TX rigs are putting nice numbers in the boat after the early top water bit dies, 10 to 15 in a couple hours reg numbers, fish also good deep on point breaks at 15 to 20, come an enjoy the Big Sam !!

Sprig Bass Report on Lake Sam Rayburn

Well the flooding finaly receded on the Big Sam and all is well again. Fishing is back to normal as the lake level and this Spring is Hot !!
Bass are very good on C-Riged Lizards an Lipless Rattling Crank baits. 20 to 30 fish per day 2 to 3 man state limits per day an a 7 to 9 pounder coming up one per 2 days fishing.
Very good numbers still on the beds as well as good numbers still pulling in due to the flooding set back, the New Moon an Full Moon in April will an May will be really Hot times so do your best to get here, the added attraction this year will be Frogs in May over late spawning Sows an Bucks, I cant wait!!

Water temps have droped, bass are hard on traps an crank baits, 18 Sunday most at 2.5 to 3 bls. all on Sexy Shad half oz traps.
Fish at 2 to 3 bls good up in bushes at 3 to 5 ft, lake has risen some 3 to 4 ft, swim jigs an creature baits working very well on these fsh.
Its nice an cold but the bit is Hot!

Well Fall finally made it guys, cool air has arrived !!
An along with wonderful cool air comes that splended joyest exciting top water bit ! Fish are very good to 5 an 6 lbs on Frogs, with some of the best meanest explosions on these baits we've seen in years. If you can make it in an are planning to throw Frogs bring your oxygen cause there is some serious heart stopping action on the lake right now !!
Top water bit is good on Frog's, Pop-Rs, an buzz baits, 20 to 30 fish per day up to 5 an 6lbs.
The mid depths rang got hot also 12 to 16 ft filled up with fish, folliwing the shad in so lots stacked at the mouths an just inside the creeks channels.
10 inch worms sickos an Crigs are all working on these fish just fine.
Fish also are stacking up in the brush piles so TX rig virtacul fish them right in those tops.
A great time for great bites on the Big Sam so come an enjoy !!!

Bass extremely good at 6 to 10 ft of water and again at 17 to 29 ft, both and most good fish are hard on TX rig 10 inc worms. Blue flake early then reds after 830 am
Top water frog and poper bite has picked up and is good. The third bait of choise is rattle traps, turned on an gave up three above 6lbs today.
