What a session on the water!

We had two exciting strikes while trolling. The first one was a serious battle — Peter was hooked into a powerful fish that had the rod bent hard and the reel screaming. We fought it all the way, but unfortunately, it wasn’t our day. Even with a wire leader, the fish’s razor-sharp teeth managed to cut through and break us off.
But we didn’t give up.
Not long after, we got our second strike. This time, we managed to bring one fish to the boat — a solid skipjack tuna!
Two strikes, one lost fish, and one fish landed. That’s the beauty of fishing: you never know what’s going to hit next. The adrenaline, the fight, and the anticipation are what make every trip unforgettable.

We recently welcomed a truly passionate angler who was ready to chase Giant Trevally around Batu Abah, Nusa Penida. The weather was perfect, the current was looking good, although the water was unusually cold that day. We worked the spots hard, hoping for a GT, but instead landed **2 beautiful groupers and had 3 powerful shark strikes**.
We didn’t get the GT we were chasing, but that’s fishing.
You don’t always get your target fish, and that’s exactly what makes every trip special. The real reward is being out on the ocean, chasing the next strike, enjoying the challenge, and creating unforgettable memories along the way.

The Hunt for GT

Hunting for Giant Trevally (GT) takes patience, effort, and sometimes a little luck. In Bali waters, GT are becoming harder to find. Their spots are limited, partly due to years of net fishing and coral reefs that are no longer as healthy as they once were.
On this trip, we returned to an area that was once known as a gathering ground for GT and Amberjack. The water is very cool and we know that it's will be hard to get strike.We tried everything—popping, trolling, and jigging. There was plenty of baitfish around, but strangely, not a single big predator was cruising the area.
No GT strike this time. ?
That’s the art of fishing—sometimes expectations and reality are completely different. But that’s also what makes fishing so exciting. Every trip is a new story, and every day on the ocean is a chance to escape the stress of everyday life.
