Captain Armando's dad took him fishing at about the age of 6. It didn't take long for him to explore this hobby as he took any available free time to go fish. On his 17th birthday, he and his brother DJ, also a charter captain took to the Flamingo Everglades not having a clue what to expect. It was on this trip that Armando caught his first Redfish, and simply never looked back. In his teenage years, Armando idolized the 'Spanish Fly' Jose Wejebe and aspired to be just like him. Armando has achieved humble success in the industry, the highlights include entry and wins into local and national tournaments and a TV commercial for his sponsor at the time, Evinrude engines. At close to 200 FIVE star reviews, Armando takes pride in showing his clients what he knows about fishing the Flamingo Everglades for the past three decades. Quite simply, there isn't a Captain in the area that has the experience Armando has- jump aboard and be pampered by world class customer service! A2 Fishing Charters

    Second Time’s the Charm

Uscita di pesca di 6 ore (3/4 giornata)

We chose to have our big family vacation with fishing the back country with Capt. Armando in mind. He made everything so easy from booking, prepping, and the actual fishing. He made sure that we were fishing where the fish had been biting by casting expertly to the honey holes. When the fish stopped biting, he moved us to the next location. My 15 yr old daughter ended up beating all of us anglers on the boat by bringing in 4 keeper fish including the largest sea trout that we had ever seen. I even managed to bring in the biggest redfish of the trip after finding no success either catching keeper fish. All of us had a blast! The core memories made that day will live on in bragging rights and fish tales. Thank you Capt. Armando

Great day with a great guide

    6 ore - Veterano/Primo soccorritore2 adulti

Armondo made booking the trip and getting on the water painless. He’s and extremely knowledgeable guide and had us on nice redfish right away. We caught our limit of red fish by 7:30 am followed by some snook and sea trout. We spent the rest of the trip chasing tarpon and saw some but also went after some black drum. We had fun catching two different species of catfish and jack as well. We had an awesome time and would gladly fish with him any day! He runs a great boat with great gear.

    Half day trip with Armando

    5 ore (Mezza giornata)

My dad, his buddy, and I had an awesome day fishing the 10,000 Islands with Armando. Even though we’re all experienced anglers, he still taught us a ton of new things about targeting specific species in that area and reading the water down there. He clearly knows those mangroves and backwaters inside and out and was great about explaining the what/why behind each spot and technique. We told him we wanted to chase snook, redfish, and trout, and he put us on fish all day. On top of that, he was super friendly, funny, and just easy to hang out with for a full day on the boat. You can tell he really cares about making sure everyone has a good time and actually learns something, not just reels in fish. We’ll definitely be booking more trips with him in the future and I’d highly recommend Armando to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated, solid fishing guide in the 10,000 Islands/South Florida area.

Top‑Tier Guide, Even Better Friend – Capt. Armando Never Disappoints!

Uscita di pesca di 8 ore (intera giornata)

If you're looking for a world‑class fishing experience in Everglades City, look no further than Capt. Armando Alejo with A2 Fishing Charters. My son and I are repeat customers, and after two years of fishing with Armando, I can honestly say he’s become more than just our go‑to guide — he’s become a friend. We’ve even taken a couple of non‑charter trips together simply because we enjoy the time on the water with him that much. Armando is incredibly patient with new anglers and always creates a relaxed, confidence‑building environment on the boat. Whether you're a beginner learning the basics or someone with years of experience, he knows exactly how to make the day memorable. And when it comes to finding the fish? He knows every spot worth hitting — and then some. Our most recent trip over the Christmas holidays was nothing short of amazing. We managed to put 9.5 different species in the boat — the “.5” being a shark that made an appearance right at the side before snapping the line (a small blessing, honestly, since none of us were eager to wrestle a hook out of it!). Every trip with Armando is fun, safe, productive, and full of good energy. I highly recommend A2 Fishing Charters to anyone looking for a true Everglades experience with a captain who cares about both the fishing and the people on board. We’re already looking forward to our next adventure — whether using his charter service again or linking up with him somewhere new. All good things here. Book with confidence.

Caught a huge variety of fish

    6 ore - Veterano/Primo soccorritore2 adulti1 bambino

The captain made a huge effort to take us to where the fish were and it paid off. We prob caught 8-10 different species with several of them being good keeper fish that the captain happily filleted for us back at the dock. My 10 year old can be very difficult and the captain was super patient all day and just happily agreed to all my son’s requests. Was a pleasure and would highly recommend!

GREAT winter bite.

dic 29, 2024 • Everglades City
Welcome to A2 Fishing Charters! This winter we are catching LARGE numbers of speckled trout, and it hasn't been difficult to catch daily bag limits either.. Recently, Ruben and his son Isaac hooked and landed nearly 100 or more speckled trout keeping only their share for the day, then had it cooked at the Rod and Gun Club with the "cook your catch". In other recent trips, we have good success with large (for us) Redfish! Neil and his family hooked and landed their boat limit of Redfish both fish upwards of 7lbs, which by tournament standards is a GOOD fish! Our best season of the year is NOW, book your trip today and be pampered by the areas most personable captain! See y'all aboard! A2 Fishing Charters

Let us get you aboard this year, 2024!

Greetings A2 Fishing Charters, new and former customers! We've closed another great season here at A2 Fishing Charters, and we are now blessed to be on the water for another great season, our 9th! Our weather has chilled, and we are now enjoying our BEST weather of the year- a great time to be outside. On most days, our afternoons are in the upper 70's, with our morning rides in the upper 60's, just beautiful and pleasant. The fishing has bordered on epic, on many days! Over the past few weeks, we've boated quite a few slot Snook, upper slot Redfish and hundreds of speckled trout. Quick limits of speckled trout have been the norm with mostly all of my groups catching their bag limit of those over our abundant grass flats in the Everglades (3 per person). On a recent trip, Ms. Bethany (a new customer to me), and her family came aboard and requested a slot Snook, almost immediately- no pressure on me at all :). We set out from Flamingo on this trip and started our day targeting speckled trout, at their request. We fought hard for them, and boated our limit and about an hour... We then set our sites on her Snook request and did so by making a good solid run east to a spot that usually gets us at least a shot at a Snook. Upon arriving, I noticed that the tide wasn't quite right, yet! So I chose to troll the area near the spot for me to gauge where the bite would be! In a matter of moments, we all started getting bites! First Ms. Bethany's son, then her nephew and then her! Wouldn't you know it, I rebaited Ms. Bethany and committed a big error, I put her rod on the deck! Within minutes and in the turmoil of everyone catching, Ms. Bethany's bait got hit, her rod fell to the lower deck and the drag went off... I acrobatically caught the butt of the rod, only to notice the fish had hooked itself on the circle hook I'd rigged. It was one of those moments when WHERE EVERYTHING WENT RIGHT! I caught wind of Ms. Bethany and heard her praying for father whom had passed away recently, she was asking him to help her land this fish! And she sure did! What a great catch she made. I shared a great moment with my new customer, received a hug from her in celebration and we proceeded to photograph her catch. Take a look at our reviews if you need any convincing, and book with me today to expreience the best customer service in our area. Capt Armando of A2 Fishing Charters.

Greetings A2 fans. Cancellations are inevitable, particularly in these economic circumstances. On the days leading to this trip, I had two cancellations- both totally out of my control! That said, I was still able to fish with my new customer, and now friend Zach. Check out his review on my page, for the days results. We ran out of Key Largo, and headed toward one of the worlds best fisheries! The Flamingo Everglades. On our first stop, we focused on catching Sheepshead, but pulled over a dozen mangrove snapper instead. Zach and I jumped on plane, headed west and made another stop for Snook, but again we caught a different species- Trout. Boating our limit of Speckled trout didn't take long, so we chilled our six for the trip and continued our trip toward Everglades National Park. Not totally satisfied with our speckled trout bite, we worked a spot that had huge numbers of trout on a previous trip- we boated another 30+ trout before we took a mid day break for lunch. Having our quantity fix, we made an adjustment to quality! We made a good run North and stopped in for some Redfish. After working the area thoroughly, we finally picked some small Snook, and a bonus black drum. With about 30 minutes left on the trip, I made one final run to try for a nicer Redfish! At about the time we had to go, Zach made his best cast of the day, hooked and fought the Redfish pictured above! I enjoyed seeing Zach go to work with this fish, one of our best of the day. All in all, we caught plenty of fish on this trip and closed the trip with a nice Redfish to boot! Capt Armando of A2 Fishing Charters.

Sheepshead, Redfish- Fun fishing!

dic 13, 2023 • Everglades City
Greetings A2 Fans! Fishing trips have four quarters (Similar to a Football game). Sometimes we catch them at the first stop, sometimes at the last stop. On this trip, return customers Macky, Tim and I had to work for them in a pre- front situation. On a previous trip, I had good idea that I'd find them in the same area but that proved to be wrong! We took our loses, sat down for lunch which gave me some time to rethink my plan for the day... After a great sandwich and conversation, I got us going and made a solid run west to some grounds I hadn't fished in months. As we approached the area, I noticed the water clarity was what I was looking for! Clear and moving. Needless to say, I was amped up before we even made our first cast in the area. Tim, and Macky both began to fish the spot. Our action began with a solid Sheepshead bite, and after a quite a few missed fish and a little bit of coaching, we began catching them! After about a dozen good sheepshead, the Redfish showed up! In an interesting twist of events, they only took baits on the bottom- so we switched! Macky, Tim, and even I got into the action. After a good 2.5 hours of constant action, my group had their fix so we high tailed it back to the dock. Capt Armando of A2 Fishing Charters.

Greetings A2 New and Return Customers, Catching up on some of my fishing reports, as it has been a very busy December. I recently had Ms. Melina and her husband Kevin aboard, again. We sat at the dock for about 30 minutes on this day and waited to see some passing storms bring quite a bit of rain through the area, but once the rain flowed through- we went right to work! Within a short distance from the dock and with about 45 minutes left of the rising tide, we hit our first stop. To my, and everyone's surprise, we began sinking corks almost immediately! Melina, Kevin and I each boated Redfish almost immediately all of which were released safely to fight another day. After getting a good Redfish fix, I did a solid run east to find Kevin a requested Snook. After making several stops, and diligently casting for a good Snook, we were not very successful so I decided to switch species to Sheepshead. We made another solid run East, and made one stop for the elusive Sheep! It was almost immediately, that we boated 5 or more good Sheeps! Again, all of which Ms. Melina and Kevin threw back to fight another day. After a brief attempt at Speckled Trout, we were weren't seeing the action we wanted so I made one last ditch effort at our Snook. I ran to one of my tried and trough Snook spots, and worked hard at it with many varieties of baits. Live shrimp, soft plastics, and the like. With about five minutes left on the charter, Melina then Kevin both boated some nice Snook- relieved was an understatement, we made it happen!

Crisp weather, GREAT fishing!

A2 Customers, new and returning! The hot humid summer days are past us now, the water temperatures are improved and the fishing is the best I've experienced in months! Now coming aboard are; Snook, Redfish, Snapper, and some Trout and Tripletail.. On a recent trips, Ms. Helen and family came aboard, and WOW, what a day we had! I remember that trip vividly.. by 9 a.m., we had a limit of Redfish (with two or more bruisers, over 8 lbs), one Tripletail, 2 Trout and a handful of Mangrove Snapper. We were left combing the Flamingo Everglades for a slot Snook, or a big Tarpon. Not to much thereafter, Jimmy (Ms. Helen's son), hooked, jumped and he fought a 100+ lbs Tarpon for over 45 minutes! Jimmy put the heat on that fish the whole time and put our gear to the test! Our IRT 300, Cajun custom combo went to work that day! But the 15 lb Power PRO braid, and Four Horsemen cork combo won the battle! It was my pleasure to hoist that beast, and measured it at approximately 5 ft long! I've added a later start trip, "for late risers", this trip is designed for those folks down here wanting to start their day a bit later, 10 a.m. We are preparing for an action packed winter season! Don't miss out and book today. See y'all aboard. Capt A2.
