We had the pleasure of welcoming the lovely Louise family from New Zealand — a friendly, enthusiastic family of experienced anglers who were ready for another adventure on the waters.
The weather was beautiful that day, with great conditions to enjoy the ocean. However, the current was unusually slow, the water was quite cold, and even our sonar showed very little fish activity below.
We started at our first spot with jigging, hoping for an early strike. Interestingly, we had fished the same spot just one day earlier and had some great strikes there. But as we all know, fishing is never the same every day. Sometimes the fish simply have their own plans.
After giving jigging a good try, we decided to change our strategy and switch to trolling. We also met several other anglers on the water who had made the same decision because the fish activity was not very aggressive that day.
Finally, we were rewarded with one solid strike from a tongkol (skipjack tuna)! Although it wasn't a big catch, that single pull made the difference and reminded us why we love fishing — you never know what the ocean will give you.
After the fishing session, the Louise family enjoyed some relaxing snorkeling around Nusa Dua before we wrapped up our half-day fishing trip.
Thank you, Louise family, for bringing such great energy and positive vibes to the trip. Sometimes the ocean gives us plenty of fish, and sometimes it gives us a story to remember.
Fishing is not always about the catch — it's about the adventure, the experience, and the memories we create along the way.
