This is already strong—just tightened the ending so it hits a little cleaner: ⸻ Jay Eichler put me on fish and showed exactly why Lake Fork is so highly regarded. He’s knowledgeable, patient, and knows how to adjust to conditions throughout the day. I learned a lot, had great action, and came away with a real understanding of how to approach Fork—it’s far different than I expected. Coming from years of bass fishing on Pools 7 and 8 of the Mississippi River, I had my habits. Jay knows Lake Fork and helped me adjust my technique to fit the lake, which made all the difference. Beyond the fishing, Jay is easy to spend a day with—laid back, professional, and focused on making sure you have a great experience. If you want a guide who truly knows the lake and can teach while putting you on fish, I’d highly recommend Jay. Didn’t land that 10-pounder this trip… so I’ll be back—and I’d book with Jay again in a heartbeat.

My buddy and I had on our bucket list to bass fish Lake Fork, and I chose Captain J based partly on the reviews, so I wanted to give other fishermen the scoop on Lake Fork Guide Service and Captain J. Put simply, 2 Anglers, and we both caught personal bests. From beginning to end, the best charter I have been on. I learned quite a bit, and I am still feeling the adrenaline from catching my PB, as well as watching my buddy land his, an impresive 7.25 lb'er! Jay did a great job. Fished on dpawning flats 1-6 ft of water fished lipless cranks, and many soft plastics. Jay boated a 2lb male & 4 lb female. I lost a 2lber, horsef around. Right time, location, guide. Tough day. I would highly recommend Jay. Personable, professional, helped rig rods. Did what a guide is supposed to do. Would definitely go back out with Jay if I could.
