No better guide
Met Sim the day of the trip and he had already scouted the schedule. He decided that due to water conditions and time of the year that a drift down the Kasilof would likely be more productive than a Kenai trip. He was spot-on. First stop netted two for me and one for his son. Third stop we limited out and called it, then finished drifting to the take-out. Most scenic fishing trip of my life. The water was clear and eagles were abundant along the trip, and the river was generous with the fish. Sam is a great drift boat captain but extremely humble. He and his son are both extremely knowledgeable about the rivers, the techniques, the conservation laws. Sim added a ton of personal flare that put this trip into first place of all guided trips. I genuinely feel like I made a friend, not just had a great fishing trip. Sim and the trip by giving me the hook and leader from the fishing trip as a souvenir and momento. It was a great touch on a wonderful fishing trip. There is nothing I would have changed. The price is affordable and he went way above to make it a great trip. I will be back.
