Booked the kids 2 hour trip with Capt Wyatt. It ended up being a rather windy day which makes for good near shore fishing he said, but with how big the swells were, the captain said for the kids safety, we would be fishing the channels, he made it clear that the channel fishing would be challenging and didn’t give us false hope. To his surprise and ours, we caught a total of 8 fish. We caught 4 black drum, a pig fish, 2 pin fish, and a croaker. All ranging from about 6-12 inches or so, but they put up a decent fight and we had fun.
Overall, it’s always a gamble booking a fishing charter knowing you may not get anything, but we happened to have good luck, captain was very nice and good with the kids, helped us with the technique for the type of fish we were after, and kept us moving along the channels every so often.
I would have no issue booking with them again and trying out another type of fishing if the weather permitted but the channel fishing was fun too and I liked being able to cast my own reel, not like my experiences deep sea fishing where all you do is just reel in once you get a bite and the crew sets the hook.
They are also reasonably priced and the captain was a total pro and we had fun.
