If you're looking to book a fishing charter, I truly don't think you could land on a better captain than Captain Monty Childers. Captain Monty and his 2015 Grady-White Express delivered one of the best charter experiences I've ever had—and I've been on several offshore trips.
From the moment we stepped aboard, Monty and his mate went above and beyond to make sure our entire group was comfortable and having a great time. They even brought bean bag chairs so the ladies in our group could relax and enjoy the ride.
What impressed me most, though, was how Captain Monty handled an unexpected situation. When one member of our group wasn't feeling up to making the trek offshore, Monty immediately put their well-being first. He made sure they had water, a cool towel, and someone to talk to while helping ease their nerves. At the same time, he completely pivoted our original plans and put together an awesome nearshore trip for the rest of us who were still hoping to catch a big one. That ability to adapt on the fly while still making sure every person in our group was taken care of says everything you need to know about the kind of captain he is.
And the fishing was only part of what made the day so memorable. Monty entertained our entire group from start to finish. He told stories, joked around with us, and had all four of us laughing our asses off for hours. By the end of the trip, it felt less like we'd hired a charter captain and more like we'd spent the day fishing with someone we'd known for years.
I can confidently speak for our entire group when I say we could not have been happier with the experience Captain Monty gave us. Between his professionalism, hospitality, personality, and ability to completely adapt the trip to our group, he turned what could have been a difficult situation into an unforgettable day on the water.
For the experience we had that day, I genuinely would have been happy paying double what the trip cost. Captain Monty and the experience he created were worth every penny and then some.
We will absolutely fish with him again. If you're considering booking a charter with Captain Monty Childers, do it. You won't regret it.
