Als je klaar bent om te gaan vissen in Juneau, dan ben je bij Juneau Adventures aan het juiste adres. Met vele uren ervaring op deze getijden is schipper Terry klaar om je op vis te zetten!

Deze wateren staan bekend om een verscheidenheid aan Zalm, evenals Heilbot, Rockfish, Groenling (Lingcod) en meer. Voor deze soorten ga je waarschijnlijk trollen en bodemvissen met licht of zwaar materiaal. Alle vis die je vangt mag je mee naar huis nemen, mits deze binnen de maat- en vangstlimieten valt. Het schoonmaken van de vangst is beschikbaar, zodat je je vis mee naar huis kunt nemen en direct in de pan kunt gooien. Zorg dat je een koelbox klaar hebt staan in de auto!

Je trip begint aan boord van de 'Petrel', een 30' Duckworth vissersboot met een capaciteit voor 6 passagiers. Het schip heeft downriggers en alles wat je nodig hebt voor een productieve dag op het water. Snel, veilig en comfortabel - ze brengt je snel naar de visgronden. Alle moderne elektronica, elektrische downriggers, Zalm- en Heilbot-hengels en molens. Kajuitverwarming, afgesloten toilet met elektrische spoeling. Deze boot is een vismachine!

Je krijgt hulp van een eerste maat om je op vis te zetten en het meeste uit je trip te halen. Een fooi van 10%-20% aan het einde van de dag is gebruikelijk om je waardering te tonen voor hun harde werk. Voordat je aan boord komt, moet je een lokale visvergunning kopen voor iedereen in je groep die ouder is dan 16 jaar. Deze informatie is meestal online beschikbaar, of je kunt het aan de schipper vragen.

Gezinnen die er een dagje uit van maken, zullen blij zijn te horen dat kinderen welkom zijn aan boord! Er zijn wat drankjes en lichte snacks aan boord. Lunch is inbegrepen bij trips van 6 en 8 uur.

Capt. Terry is awesome!!

3/4 Day Trip – Halibut (PM) op July 27, 2025 • 6 volwassenen

No one in my family is an angler, but on our Alaska cruise I still wanted to fish. Capt. Terry had a taxi waiting for me right off the boat and at the pier to take us back. I learned that fishing takes some work, and technique that we were trying to figure out. The crew was there helping all 6 of us to figure it out, and letting us learn how to do it instead of just reeling in a fish they caught. It would have been nice to come home with more fish, but it is fishing after all, not catching. I absolutely loved my day on the water, and I would definitely go back and book another trip with Capt. Terry. Next time, I’ll just make sure to spend a few days.

Half Day Trip – Salmon (PM) op July 2, 2025 • 3 volwassenen • 1 kind

We had a crew of 4 and were taken out by Captain John and deckhand Dylan for a half day salmon trip.
Captain John was there to greet us at the dock and was very friendly and welcoming. We went out on the 50/50 boat a 30’ which had plenty of room for fishing and warmth inside. We made it out to the fishing area within 15 minutes and had 4 rods in the water right away. 
The fishing was a little slow as we saw other boats not bringing in fish either and whales had entered the fishing area. While it was amazing to see whales, they do not help fishing.
About halfway through the day my son hooked into a nice fish that was a great fight! He ended up landing a 30” King salmon, the biggest fish of his life! I caught a smaller chum salmon but was still fun to catch! My mother and father in law didn’t get a chance to fish as we had no other bites.
Dylan was working hard and being helpful to make the trip enjoyable and fun for everyone. He’s a good kid and his family should be proud. He even let my son try fresh salmon eggs and salmon heart which he loved!
Overall it was a great fishing trip and an experience that my son will never forget!
If we’re ever back in the area, I’ll definitely book another trip!

First fishing trip in Alaska

This was our first fishing trip in Alaska. We are novices and appreciated Terry accommodating our change in schedule. Terry was not able to take us that day so we had a different crew which was friendly. They were great with our 4 kids. We were able to see orcas which was a treat.

Unfortunately, we did not catch any fish. We set out to catch salmon but it was too early in the season. As novices, we would have appreciated a discussion about our goals and priorities. What we caught was less important than the experience of catching something. We would have gladly started or switched to something else like halibut and rockfish. We asked about that halfway through our 4 hour fishing trip but it was too late. It was a beautiful day. We definitely appreciated the beauty of the area.

Absolutely the Highlight of Our Trip!

Half Day Trip – Salmon (PM) op May 25, 2024 • 6 volwassenen

We booked a 4-hour salmon charter at the end of May, and although the salmon hadn't migrated to the Juneau area yet, Captain Terry was incredibly flexible, ensuring we still had a fantastic fishing experience. Sneak peek: we caught 15 fish, including Rockfish and a Halibut! Our trip with Captain Terry and his deckhand was not just about fishing; it was a four-in-one adventure. We went whale watching, saw hundreds of seals and sea lions, and ended with sightings of dozens of bald eagles. Despite having only one experienced fisher in our group, everyone caught fish and had a great time. If you're visiting Juneau, whether on a cruise or a trip, this is an experience you can't miss. You'll have an incredible time with knowledgeable and friendly guides who know the area and its wildlife well. Thanks Captain Terry!
