Als je in Key West een lijn gaat uitgooien, hoef je niet verder te zoeken dan Flats Fever. Je gids voor de dag is Schipper Rick, dus je profiteert van 50 jaar professionele ervaring als een boot, een schipper operatie.

Afhankelijk van het seizoen kun je Tarpon, Permit, Gratenvis, Paardmakreel, Batjauwvis, Trout, Pompano Horsmakreel en Spinner Shark vangen, en wat er verder maar bijt. Schipper Rick biedt ook vliegvissen aan, alle materiaal inbegrepen. verwelkomt vissers van alle leeftijden, inclusief kinderen.

Je excursie begint aan boord van een 18'5 Master Angler Maverick flatsboot met een capaciteit voor 3 passagiers. De derde persoon kost 50 dollar extra. De boot is voorzien van alle benodigdheden. Hengels, molens en materiaal zijn inbegrepen bij de charter, evenals kunstaas. Levend aas en vliegen. Ik heb topkwaliteit materiaal en heb alles voor de dag, behalve wat je zelf wilt eten en drinken.

Je hoeft geen visvergunning te kopen, kom gewoon klaar voor wat vissen! Houd er rekening mee dat je sommige vissen moet terugzetten vanwege regelgeving. Als je niet weet wat je kunt verwachten, vraag het de schipper. Het wordt aanbevolen om flessenwater, zonnebrandcrème (niet-spray) en een zonnebril mee te nemen. Alcohol is toegestaan in matige hoeveelheden, vermijd alleen sterke drank en glazen flessen. Ik heb een geweldige boot en dek veel gebied af. Ik neem je mee naar prachtige plekken waar je geen andere boot zult zien. Ik vis hard en blijf weg van de drukte. Plan om vroeg te vertrekken, de beste beet is voor zonsopkomst.

Our fishing trip with Flatz Fever, headed by Captain Rick Magner, was an unforgettable experience, though not quite for the reasons we had hoped. Captain Rick, a seasoned fisherman of 38 years, navigated us through the waters of Key West with apparent confidence. However, our day took a startling turn when we were pulled over by the Coast Guard. This tense encounter stemmed from Captain Rick’s decision to park in front of a cruise ship, leading to a visibly exasperated reaction when asked to move his boat.

Unfortunately, our hopes of catching fish were dashed. Despite Rick’s assurances and his choice of bait/lures—an unpleasantly stinky variety and small plugs for casting at rolling tarpon—we did not manage to reel in a single catch. The combination of questionable parking choices and ineffective bait made for a disappointing outing. While Captain Rick’s colorful personality added some flair to the trip, the overall experience left much to be desired.

We let out at day break. The first spot we hit was out off Key West. This area holds hundreds of schooling Tarpon. I hit this spot early because its fished heavy with a lot of boats. When we got there the Tarpon were rolling everywhere. It just so happens the Coast guard was out asking all fishing boat to clear the area due to a possible security problem with the cruise ships.. I was asked to leave the area, which we did. At no time were we anywhere close to a cruise ship. Matter of fact the ship was still 5 miles away. This guy said I parked in front of an on coming 1000 foot long,100,000 ton ship With an 18 FOOT SKIFF. I have not stayed in business for 48 years with a 5 star rating buy running into large ships. I run 160 trips a year and haven't lost anyone yet, or been run over by an on coming cruise ship. This guy forget to mention I ran him 12 miles to another good spot. Where we hooked into some big Tarpon. I know you can't make everyone happy all the time, this is fishing. But this guy is total sour grapes.
