Salty Sam’s Charters 

This was an amazing trip! My wife our 2 boys and I went for a 4 hour trip and had a blast. Capt. Sam took us right to the fish. We had a couple Grouper hits right off the bat but we tried to catch some dinner before going after the big guys. We caught a bunch of Mingos a bunch of keepers and some we threw back in. Caught a bunch of other fish and then we went after the Groupers, both boys and I landed Groupers and with minutes left before we needed to head back I hooked up a monster, rod bent in half Sam and I both pulling and reeling and then I lost it. Rookie mistake. Next time I’m in Florida I will book another trip and this time for longer and we will get one of the big guys.

My wife and I went out with Captain Sam . My wife has never been fishing in the gulf he made sure she had a good experience and caught fish. She was hooked up on thr first dropped and caught a lot of B liners and small trigger fish . My wife also was catching two per drop for a little bit . Captain Sam is local to the area and knowledgeable of the area. Overall for our trip we had a great experience plenty of bites . Family friendly boat with great tackle . We had a great experience , looking forward to coming back soon. Tried for grouper but they would not corporate, but wr caught plenty of snapper and trigger fish.

Sam knew where the fish would be and he went way out of his way to get us to them! We booked only a 4 hour but he made it worth it! Definitely recommend booking a 6 hour because he had multiple spots for different fish but no way we could do it all in 4 hours! We all caught and got so many vermilion snapper! He had us laughing the whole time and got the kids hyped up too. Landon was quick with putting on the bait and taking them off the hook so we were constantly catching! Not a single complaint and we came home with enough dinner for a week! Hands down the best experience and the best vibes! Sam goes above and beyond to make sure we all had a good catch and a good laugh!

Where do I begin? Sam was phenomenal. Right out the gate we started the day with a safety briefing which consisted of a full rundown of where all the life jackets, fire extinguishers and life ring were located. He walked us through the water conditions for the day and what to expect. We were underway right at 0900. He expertly navigated the 2ft seas keeping us all as dry as possible, to include shuffling us around to balance the weight. I think it only took us about 20 minutes to get to the first spot. Sam immediately went to work getting hooks baited and anglers setup. We were on some Trigger almost immediately but, to all of our disappointment they were undersized. We floated around the spot for a bit and then really got into some Mangrove snapper. We ended up with about 10 keeper sized before we pushed off in search of more Trigger. The next few spots were dry holes but, considering the water temp and time of year, it was expected. We made our way back to our first spot of the day, landed a nice lane snapper, a beautiful American Red Snapper which we safely returned to the waters. Right before wrapping up for the morning my rod bent in half! Oh man this is the big one. A short but fun fight later I landed the 19" flounder that you see in the image above. The whole boat was excited, we bent the dip net and it was a nice way to finish out the trip. We cruised back to the marina got unloaded, divided up the catch. Sam cleaned bagged and iced everything for everyone and we were on our way home. Was a really fantastic outing despite not hooking into many of our targeted species. Will definitely book again.

Capt Sam and Mate Heath were terrific! We had a great time. Our original trip was cancelled due to extreme seas but Capt Sam offered us fishing in the bay and we weren't disappointed. We had a great time, with everyone catching fish. We had 5 in our party, including 2 kids and there was plenty of room to move around and fish. Kids had a great time and Cat Sam and Heath were so good and patient with them, showing them how to fish in the sea. It was great afternoon! I highly recommend them!
