Finquest Sportfising is een ideale keuze voor een vischap op Lake Michigan. De schipper heeft meer dan 40 jaar ervaring op het meer en heeft zijn hele leven in Kenosha gewoond en gevist.

Finquest Charters gebruikt uitsluitend topkwaliteit materiaal en alle nieuwste innovaties en ontwikkelingen op het gebied van vissen in de Grote Meren. De schipper neemt u mee aan boord van een ruim 35-voets Trojan motorjacht. Met een open cockpitindeling en verwijderbare schermen is het vaartuig weerbestendig. Het voldoet aan en overtreft zelfs alle U.S.C.G. veiligheids- en uitrustingseisen. Binnen is er een bank, een v-kooi en een dinette, evenals een schone badkamer met een elektrisch spoeltoilet. De boot wordt aangedreven door twee 350 PK Mercruiser C.I. V-8 motoren om door Lake Michigan te varen. Perfect voor maximaal zes vissers, is het volledig uitgerust met state-of-the-art navigatie-elektronica en sportvismaterialen.

Het open water visseizoen begint half april, wanneer het vissen op Forel en Coho Zalm begint. Half mei brengt de 'beste beet op het meer' - Coho die variëren van 3 tot 6 lbs. Half juni wordt het weer stabieler en worden de vissen groter. De schipper vaart naar open zee naar dieper water om een 'Grand Slam' in zijn koelbox te krijgen.

Juli tot en met augustus is de trofeëntijd, met de vissen op hun grootste formaat van het jaar. Afhankelijk van de watertemperatuur en het weer, kunt u in zeer ondiep water vissen.

Er is minder verkeer op het water in september en oktober, maar het vissen kan behoorlijk goed zijn. Het is de beste tijd om 3 jaar oude Kings, Regenboogforel en Amerikaanse Meerforel te vangen. Amerikaanse Meerforel paaien in november en kunnen daarvoor flink aan de voederbak gaan.

Alle trips zijn inclusief exclusieve Shimano Talora hengels, Tekota molens, materiaal en kunstaas. De schipper stuurt uw vangst schoongemaakt en verpakt naar huis, klaar om direct in de pan te gaan! Wilt u de hoeveelheid vangst in uw koelbox vergroten? De schipper beveelt trips van 6 of 8 uur aan.

Houd er rekening mee dat tweedaagse visvergunningen €15 per stuk kosten.

I went fishing with Captain Tim and Finquest charters and had a tremendous experience.  The meeting location is very easy to find, is in a safe location and parking is free.  Captain Tim arrived early and was ready to go.  We left as soon as we got settled on the boat, before the scheduled start time.

The Captain is friendly and didn't seem to mind any of my two trillion questions that I asked him.  He was a great source of information in regards to the history, the area and salmon fishing.  He was quite social for it being so early in the morning.

When we got to the area where we were going to fish, Captain Tim was explaining the different depths, how much line was being put out, trolling speed and all of the other things that I was interested in.  As soon as the Captain set the first line, he began letting out line on the second rod and we had one on.  Captain Tim was calm throughout, giving helpful instructions and within ten minutes of reaching the fishing grounds, we had one in the boat.  

Shortly after getting the rods back out, there were three fish on at once, which was only a problem because we only had two people fishing.  Two of the three were landed, as one jumped off as it sat in a rod holder.

We kept fishing until we caught all that we wanted to take.  We had a great day with a lot of laughs, great fishing stories and nonstop action.  He had top notch recommendations of places to eat, including a local "cook your catch" restaurant.  

The fish were fileted and bagged to take.  This captain has a great demeanor that is perfect for any age or skill level that you may have in your group.  If you are looking to go fishing in the Kenosha area, I would highly recommend Captain Tim and Finquest charters.  Despite never meeting him prior to the trip, It was like fishing with a friend.

Some of the most fun we’ve ever had.

Tim was incredibly knowledgeable and humble when it comes to fishing and he gave us an incredible opportunity out on Lake Michigan. When we learned that we might have some bad weather on the day of our trip he offered to move it to the next day since he didn’t have any other customers out to fish that day, which we declined but was incredibly kind of him. He also asked our preference on what we wanted to catch and he mended our schedule to fit exactly what type of fish and how many we wanted to catch. While we were out on the water he showed his immense knowledge and understanding of the fish and their patterns and was absolutely incredible to watch. He didn’t make us do a thing while we were in the boat we just sat back and watched the master do his thing. We limited out on fish and caught four different species while we were out. We’re super excited to eat all of the fish he filleted and bagged for us. I highly recommend taking this charter if you want to have a good laugh with a great guy and catch a whole lot of fun fish. The man’s mustache is incredible as well.

I wanted to do something special with my son, son-in-laws, and brother-in-law so I decided on a charter fishing trip. We had an absolute blast out on the water.  Captain Tim was very knowledgeable and made the experience memorable.  Everything was set up very well for us, and we were very happy with the fish we took home.
Overall, is was a really great and relaxing morning.
