Poacher Sportfishing is gespecialiseerd in inshore- en kustnabije vistrips op de oceaan en in de inhamwateren van de Outer Banks van NC. Alle trips zijn aan de oceaanzijde en vanaf mijn aanlegplaats is het de kortste boottocht naar de visgronden in de oceaan. Schipper Devin begeleidde een bemanning naar het STAATSRECORD gestreepte zeebaars in 2011 met een gewicht van 64 lbs, een record dat vandaag de dag nog steeds staat. Al onze trips zijn gepland voor vissen aan de oceaanzijde en uw NC-visvergunning is gratis aan boord inbegrepen.

Schipper Devin vist al zijn hele leven en heeft 41 jaar ervaring als gediplomeerd schipper en vaart al 33 seizoenen charters vanuit Oregon Inlet op zijn boot Poacher. Een doorgewinterde veteraan die professioneel heeft gevist in Afrika, Mexico, Costa Rica, Bahama's, Maagdeneilanden, Panama en Zuid-Florida. Maar groeide op als dekhulp hier bij Oregon Inlet in Nags Head en weet hoe hij u op vis moet zetten. Hij en zijn eerste maat verwelkomen u aan boord van zijn 42' Bruno-boot, gemaakt voor sportvisserij op de oceaan. Tot zes vissers kunnen comfortabel mee en in de zomermaanden is het ideaal voor kinderen.

We bieden trips van 4 uur, 6 uur en hele dag om aan uw behoeften te voldoen. De boot is uitgerust met een flybridge, hut, TOILET MET DEUR, tonijntoren, zonnescherm, 4 stoelen en alle vereiste veiligheidsuitrusting, een levend aasbassin en een ijskist voor uw vangst.

We vissen in de oceaan langs de stranden en inhammen tot 20 mijl uit de kust, afhankelijk van halve dagen of volledige dagtrips. U kunt batjauwvis, spaanse makreel, dwergtonijn, blauwbaars, rode trommelvis, haaien, zeebaars, trekkervissen en meer tegenkomen.

Tijdens het vissen kunt u trollen, driftvissen, werpen, bodemvissen - we zijn uitgerust voor wat het ook vergt. De boot is geladen met een volledig assortiment visuitrusting. Gezinnen zullen het geweldig naar hun zin hebben met het vangen van verschillende soorten en kunnen hun vangst opslaan in de ijskist voor later een smakelijke familie-maaltijd. De eerste maat zal helpen zodat u een plezierige dag op het water heeft. Neem zonnebrandcrème, een camera, wat snacks en drankjes mee - alcohol meenemen is geen probleem.

Half Day Trip op May 13, 2026 • 6 volwassenen

I told captain Devin I wanted to catch some bigger fish than what I usually caught in the sound with other fishing boats. He told me that there were some big bluefish biting a good ways out so we went out 8 miles off shore. With Devin captaining the boat Spencer the deck hand helped all of us get our rods and reels out into the water and continuously helped us with the fish that we caught. Devin put us on the fish and we ended up with our limit on bluefish.  After we hit the limit on bluefish we decided to start fishing for albacore and mackerel while on the way back to the dock. Only ended up with one mackerel but it was an amazing fishing trip. 10/10 recommend captain Devin and his deck hand Spencer. Best trip so far we had a Total of 24 fish between 3 people.

Great Captian and first mate!

We have had bad/mediocre experiences in the past with other charters, but Devin and his First Mate exceeded expectations! Although the water was colder than we expected when we booked this last year, they did their best to work with what they could and get us on some fish we could take home. Highly recommend these guys! Super friendly and knowledgeable.

fished early season so wasnt sure how we would do. but captian devin put us on blue fish schools. then went out to fish some wrecks and ended up with a citation black sea bass. finished the day trolling for whatever would bite and slammed some large snapper blue fish. 148lbs of fish later and we had a great day

Fantastic trip!

Captain Cage and first mate Spencer were fantastic. Conditions were challenging the week our trip was booked. Capt. Cage worked with us to make sure we could still get out and have a good time. We hit the sound and had fish on almost immediately. We had a great haul of blues and Spanish mackerel. Spencer was like a fish ninja - quickly swapping rods, helping us land fish, and getting the lines right back in the water. The boat was immaculate and packed to the gills with every bit of equipment we could need. I really can’t praise these guys enough. Can’t wait to get back out with them next year!

Captain Devon and first mate Spencer were outstanding. They put us on fish from the beginning and Captain Devon was quick to change from trolling close for Bluefish to going out to a wreck site where we caught lots of large bluefish(more than i could bring home to Ohio). We then transitioned to bottom fishing where we caught Trigger fish and other species that we put in the cooler. We then came in and caught@ 12 Atlantic Sparp-nosed shark that are great eating fish. In total we had over 132lbs of fish to take home. We just had a huge of fried fish for the family and I have 6 huge bags of shark and bluefish to take home. I would truly recommend them. Very personable and we're great to us, especially are 12 and 13 year old boys. It was well worth the money to watch all 4 of my boys to have a great time fishing. We did a 6 hour charter and I wish we would have done the full day. You can't go wrong with these guys and that was echoed by the other captains I talked to at the dock before we left in the morning. The boat was great (extremely clean), the people were awesome, and the fishing experience was first rate. It's was an awesome day on the ocean!. Thank you Captain Devon and Spencer! I will book them the next time we are here.
