    (Half Day Trip – Nearshore)

    Super fun, lots of fish

We had a great trip with the kiddos this morning. He made sure everyone's lines stayed baited and that we kept catching fish. It was fun to watch him skillfully clean them from the boat on our way back. Mostly speaks Spanish. Boat by no means new or spotless, but comfy. Thanks Eduardo!

    Great trip

Capt Jeff put us on fish early and often. We wanted a variety, and he definitely provided that. Bottom fishing, trolling, and even some Mahi. Would book again.

Gray Triggerfish fishing is all about action on light tackle and great eating at the end of the day. Gray Triggerfish are compact, powerful Reef fish with strong teeth and a quirky look. They hang tight to structure and peck at baits with skill. That makes them famous bait stealers and a fun challenge for anglers who enjoy finesse.

You will usually target them while reef fishing or bottom fishing around rocks, reefs, and wrecks. Captains often set up drifts or anchor over structure. Small, sharp hooks make a big difference because Triggerfish have tough mouths. Natural baits like squid, shrimp, cut bait, or sand fleas work well. Small jigs also produce when kept near the bottom. Use sensitive rods, light leaders, and quick hooksets to beat their nibble-and-run bite.

Expect steady bites, short but spirited fights, and lots of laughs when the bait thieves get outsmarted. Most trips suit first-time anglers, kids, and food-focused crews. More experienced anglers enjoy dialing in precise presentations. Bring sun protection, non-slip shoes, and a camera. Pack snacks and water. If you get seasick, consider medication. Your crew will usually provide tackle and help with safe handling and, where allowed, filleting.

Regulations can change by area. Before your trip, check local fishing license and permit rules. Confirm the open season, harvest limits, and any size requirements. When in doubt, ask your captain for the latest guidance.
