I would recommend a half day trip for a first time and even tho it may be an inconvenience, if the captain tells you weather isn’t good, listen to him

I would absolutely recommend this charter to people fishing for the first time in Oak Island. Adam was very knowledgeable and is able to provide as much or as little assistance as required.

Be sure to go in the morning and also be aware that you don't bring large sharks in the boat. You won't get to hold a large shark and you more than likely can't keep them.

We tried shore fishing and pier fishing with little sucess. We caught fish but they were all very small. If you want to go out and do a lot of catching, book a charter. The fish we caught were larger and fought much harder. It's also super near to see the inner coastal waters.

It was great for all ages. We had ball. Like any fishing trip, you never know how it will go. He explained the tidal issues and how the fish run and bite or don't bite. I will book it again with Captain Matt!!

The weather is what makes it or breaks it. The hot summer days makes the bite slow down. If possible wait till fall because that's when everything is hungry before winter. We were lucky to have had some rain and a overcast day. But it wouldn't be fishing if it was easy, it would be called catching.

Water was choppy, we weren’t able to target Spanish and bluefish as expected, but the sharks were so much fun to catch!!

Be prepared for small boat motion (someone will get sea sick). Take medication before you go if you have never been on a small boating trip on the ocean. You will be in the sun the whole time. No one cares what you look like protect your self from a sunburn. Surf shirt and big hat. Two water bottles for each person. A 3 foot shark is a tough fight. You will be hungry when you get back.
