Plenty of Bites on the St. Johns River

Here’s a FishingBooker-ready September report: Writing ? SEPTEMBER IS HERE — AND THE FISH ARE HUNGRY! September is one of my favorite months to fish the St. Johns River and Downtown Jacksonville. The summer heat is finally starting to loosen its grip, and the fish are responding! Redfish have been keeping rods bent, with everything from slot-sized fish to big bruisers showing up. Speckled trout are getting more active, black drum are in the mix, and you never know what else is going to grab the bait next. Early mornings have been the ticket. We’re fishing light tackle around structure, creek mouths, drop-offs, and moving water while keeping an eye out for bait. Find the groceries and you’ll usually find something looking to eat them! The best part about September fishing in Jacksonville is the variety. One minute you're working on a nice keeper fish and the next you're hanging onto the rod wondering what freight train just picked up your bait. ?? End-of-August fishing report ?☀️ August is going out the same way it came in — HOT! ? The fish apparently didn’t get the memo though. Redfish, trout, and a few surprise guests have been keeping the rods bent around Jacksonville. The game plan: fish early, stay hydrated, catch fish, and be back before the sun tries to cook us like a gas-station hot dog. ??
