I booked a half-day fishing charter with Kamryn Dawson Charters as a Father’s Day gift for my dad, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences we’ve ever had together! Our group of six had an amazing time out on the water, and Captain TJ made the entire trip smooth, fun, and memorable. The boat was clean and well-equipped, and Captain TJ and assistant Brodie were incredibly welcoming and professional from the moment we stepped on board. He took us out to a reef where the fish were biting nonstop—we caught a ton! TJ and Brodie were knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great time. Whether it was helping us bait our hooks, teaching us how to fish, giving us tips on technique, or just sharing stories about the area, both made the fishing experience fun. If you’re looking for a unique and meaningful way to spend time with family—especially for something like a special occasion—I can’t recommend Kamryn Dawson Charters enough. This Father’s Day trip was a gift none of us will forget, and we’re already talking about coming back again! I only have a small complaint. The fish that was filleted on the boat was not descaled, so I had to do that at home.

I booked this trip for my kids (6 year old and 3 year old boys), since my 6-year-old has become OBSESSED with fishing. From start to finish, the morning couldn't have been more perfect. Captain TJ and Body were both informative, patient, and kind, making sure we all had the best day ever. We all caught fish and learned different fishing techniques. As soon as we docked at the end of our adventure, my 6-year-old asked how many days until we go back on the boat. And when we returned home he said, "Mommy, I literally had a BLAST today!". We cannot wait to do it again!

The Captain, TJ, and deck hand Bodie were awesome. They were knowledgeable, helpful and patient as we had 3 kids with us. We showed up a little early and they were ready to go, so much so that we were able to leave a bit earlier and take advantage of the extra time to catch a few more fish. The boat was clean and spacious with enough seats for many in our party to take a nap on our way to Catalina. I would highly recommend booking a charter with Captain TJ on the Kamryn Dawson and plan to do so again in the future.

Thank you to Captain TJ and his 1st mate Dylan. They were great with the entire process. They spent time teaching everyone how properly bait the hook, cast and even details about the variety of fish. While conditions were not great for fishing we still brought in a lot of fish. This is a good experience for first time fishing. I would recommend Captain TJ and his crew.

I have been on a lot of charters and this was the best yet. Captain TJ knows where the fish are. We started catching fish from the first cast and didn’t stop. We had dozens of fish in the boat let alone the ones we released. On top of that TJ and his first mate are a pleasure to spend time with. I’d give them 10 stars if I could.

We had a great time. Felt like a family trip. TJ and Bhodi were awesome. Top notch and made our day. Hit a few spots and caught something every time.

Captain and his partner were really cool. The trip was very chill and relaxing. The only thing is I wish we had more fishing time because 75% of the time was driving to different spots so we didn’t catch as much as we expected. Overall it was a fun trip

I booked 3/4 day fishing trip for myself and four of my closest friends and family and I'm extremely happy that I picked Kamryn Dawson Charters. From the time we arrived they made us feel welcomed and at ease. They were very professional and knowledgeable re: the best fishing spots. We felt very comfortable and safe the whole time. Just and extremely relaxing and fun time. I rate them a five out of five and I want to thank them for a very good time.

Captain TJ and James were amazing and made this a very personal and friendly trip. Fishing was great, we all caught plenty of fish and saw wonderful creatures from dolphins, to a close up pass of sea lions resting and sea gulls following the boat.
