I told Capt Russell, just wanted to catch a few fish and make a memory with my kids (5,9,12, and 15 year olds) and he delivered. we caught trout, redfish, and a snook and all kids had a great time and all smiles. kids are asking when can we go again. well done and thank you!

Captain Russell made our trip extra fun getting up close to the dolphins, and getting our live shrimp bait freah from a shrimping boat. He put us on the fish and we caught Trout and Reds!

We had great time and caught some very nice fish. He coached 6 of us land lubbers. Got back to the dock and paid the man to clean them, went home and ate like kings. Thank you Captain Russell!

This guy is truly an amazing person. We were scheduled to go out one day but the weather was very windy and he called up and asked if we would like to change days because the weather would limit some of the fun things planned. So courteous. We did change days and were so happy we did! He took us to see dolphins, sea turtles, private beach with shells bigger than your hand! We saw space x up close and a natural bird island with hundreds of birds nesting. Then we even had time for fishing! He was beyond patient with our kids and educated them about the best times to fish, where to fish, and even showed them how to fillet one! And of course feeding the extra to the pelicans was fun. And he was very protective of the kids explaining how pelicans have a sharp tip on their beaks and to not hand them the food so they don’t get hurt. I asked around for a guide that would target mangrove snapper, along with any of the normal bay game fish. From the moment we stepped on the boat with Capt. Russell. we immediately clicked. He's a super cool, but knowledgeable guy and knows the history of S Padre since he grew up there. So, we got a tour guide along with the fishing! He took us to some deep water spots around pilings and structure along the shore. We loved his boat, as we own 3 of our own, and it has a LOT of fishing room...the beauty of it is the simple, yet spacious design. And, it runs great with his fairly new Yamaha 4 Stroke. The water was beautiful and we saw many fish, including schools of mangrove, sheepshead, jack crevalle, etc. My son caught the biggest skipjack I've seen in all my years of fishing, we caught reds, a few specks, a sheepshead and we did catch some mangrove snapper. We made fresh ceviche with it and it was awesome! I highly recommend Capt. Russell. This is coming from a highly experienced fisherman, with my son fishing with me since he was 2 and I can honestly say that Capt. Russell is a rare gem in the guide services.

Great overall experience. Everyone caught a fish and we really enjoyed seeing the other sites and dolphins. I would definitely rebook!

You don’t always catch a lot of fish, but that’s why they call it fishing not catching. Russell still put us on them, just not a lot of keepers with the new size rules on trout. Brought enough to the boat to keep it fun plus got an up-close dolphin watch tour in the process. He certainly knows what he is doing and can find the fish by pure knowledge and 30+ years experience, no fish finder needed on his boat. Boat was open with enough room for the 4 of us to move around and cast easily. Had fun and will come back next year!

We did the 3 hour play day with Captain Russell and had a blast. He had a little bit of everything scheduled for us. The kids loved seeing the shrimp boat!!! Had a great time catching a few fish and he even had recommendations on an awesome local restaurant that would cook our catch for us. Next time we are in the area we will be reaching out to Captain Russell for another day on his boat.

I would highly recommend Captain Russell. He knew exactly where the fish were and we caught enough to cook for our lunch prepared at Tom and Jerry's. Captain Russell has grown up in this area and is very knowledgeable. He was also fun to be around and was very helpful when we needed it. We caught red fish, sheephead, flounder, and golden croaker. We even caught a sting ray, which of course we released, but it was fun. Awesome time Captain Russell!!!
