Come along with Captain Fern Gonzales and hit the inshore grounds, rivers, and flats around Matagorda to chase various species that dwell in the area. The captain's experience and easygoing personality will make your trip successful and enjoyable, so pick a day that suits you and pay him a visit at Gon Get'Em Guide Service!
To reach the desired fishing spots, you'll be using a restored 24' Explorer bay boat. It sits up to 4 guests, runs on a 250 HP Mercury engine with a maximum cruising speed of 45 knots, and uses modern GPS electronics that will help you stay on the right course all the time. The boat's also got a livewell to provide you with live bait.
You and the captain will head out to target Flounder, Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Black Drum, and you'll use jigging, popping, and drift fishing to catch them, all using light tackle. The fish you catch is yours to keep but you're free to release it if you want to. Children are welcome to come aboard, so bring them as well and make your trip even better.
Before you depart, make sure to bring your fishing licenses and some food, and the captain will take care of everything else.

We had a great trip out with Captain Fern. He was accommodating to everyone in our party and he went above and beyond to make sure everyone was enjoying the trip. Not only did we make memories, but we also learned alot about the area from his years of experience and knowledge of the waters at Matagorda Bay.
My friend and I had an amazing time with Capt Fern. He is an experienced guide amd really helpful. First class experience all the way around. I would recommend him to anyone. Whether you are experienced or new you will enjoy this guide.
