These waters are home to Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Salmon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Brown Trout, and more with any luck. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
You'll be dropping lines from a 18' Tracy's Custom jet boat with capacity for 4 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's always wise to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Bottled water and Gatorade will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks for you on board, depending on the trip you choose.

Captain Anthony made a great trip for two dads and two teen sons. Captain Anthony was very personable, patient with us learning the rigs, made great efforts toward getting us on fish and was happy when we got some salmon. He knows the Manistee River well and had plenty of good, clean gear for us to use. We would use Captain Anthony again, anytime!

Our fishing trip with Anthony was fantastic, his boat and gear are top notch. He was very dedicated to getting us to where the fish were, he did a very good job of putting us on fish. And once we were fishing he was very attentive to us and instructed us very well on catching fish.

Rob helped me to find Kings on the Manistee below Tippy Dam on October 1, 2025. He took the time to explain how to catch these awesome fish. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to get onto fish and have a great day on the water.

Captain Anthony, was excellent. He took us away from the over crowded wading fisherman, and into some nice deep holes where the fish were. He knows the river. You won’t go away disappointed.
