Spangler Adventures – Captiva 

We intended to fish inshore, but with Captain Alan's recommendation, we decided to go further out and take our chances. He was right! After two hours of catching enough mackerel for multiple meals for our group of 9, we moved further out and caught sharks for two hours - hammerhead, silkies, and black tips. We took six tourists ranging in age from 8 to 85 and everyone caught plenty of fish and had a fantastic trip. Our grill was overflowing with fresh, blackened fish that evening. Highly recommend Spangler Adventures!!

Alan was absolutely amazing taking us from spot to spot to giving us the greatest opportunity to catch fish and have a great time. Every time we stopped, he would literally run to get our poles in the water as quick as he could. He is incredibly professional, fun and knowledgeable, and anybody who does not book a tour with him is definitely making a big mistake. Thank you Allen my three sons and I had an incredible time.

Captain Alan was great, we caught so many sea trout at the first stop and 7 keepers immediately. It was a very memorable experience and awesome first time fishing in Florida. He did all the work and I would recommend this for anyone.

Captain Alan has a very nice boat that easily accommodated 2 adults and 4 kids. He got us on the fish quickly, and we had a productive trip. He gave us a lot of fishing options and was open to whatever we were interested in. Everyone caught fish, which was great for the kids. We walked away with enough filets to feed our family of 12 twice. A superb fishing platform, with high quality tackle, made for an excellent morning. I highly recommend Spangler Adventures if you’re in the Fort Myers/Sanibel/Captiva area.

Alan knows his fishing well! Was prepared to catch all sorts of fish, and probably the best thing was how patient he was with my sons. They were all ecstatic. He’s a very personable guy too, we talked for hours about the little but important things in life. Snook, sea trout, lady fish, some catfish and even a few shark. Look no further, you’ve found the best charter down here.

We had a blast Chris put us on some good spots the wind wasn't cooperating very well but he did an amazing job even with a minor equipment problem he had which wasn't his fault or from it being bad just a minor problem and he worked around it like an absolute professional I've been on a few charters and the captains have been mediocre captain Chris was beyond the best I've ever been around personality wise and doing his job we all say how it must be nice to be a guide I know it's not easy I have a boat and I've done it with my family for years on a few lakes it's not easy and can be frustrating at times Chris thanks for the memories and the opportunity to go with you it truly was an honor being on your board today and putting us on fish even the ones that got away

We had two great days with Captain Alan during our Red Sox Spring Training trip in March 2022. One day was all about redfish and sea trout and the next day was all about the snook - over 50 of them in the boat that day! - along with a couple of fun amberjacks, and it all ended with my very first tarpon. What a thrill! We have been doing trips with Captain Alan for the past several years and he has been - by FAR - the best captain/guide we have ever had. If you're thinking about booking a fishing trip in the Fort Meyers area, don't hesitate to do it with Captain Alan Spangler...he's THE BEST!!!

We are a family of beginners and we had a great time - Captain Alan was really good company and he helped us out a lot. We caught plenty of fish and our youngest son landed a large barracuda thanks to some expert and considerable help from our Captain!! Would recommend to anyone.
