(5 Hour Trip – Morning Salmon)

    Amazing Trip!

Had a great time fishing with Adam today. We caught around 10 or so wild Coho Salmon, 2 mackarel, and 2 keeper stocked Cohos. We were also able to catch a handful of Dungeness crabs and got a keeper size to take home. We had an amazing time during our first time here in BC. We are looking forward to coming back in the future!

    Top Guide

Inshore fishing takes place in shallow, protected waters close to land. Think bays, estuaries, flats, mangroves, and backcountry channels. Runs are short, the water is calmer, and the action can be steady. It’s a great way to catch hard-fighting fish without heading far offshore.

Typical targets include Redfish, Snook, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Sheepshead, and Black Drum. In many areas you can also find Tarpon, Bonefish, Permit, Jacks, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and small Sharks like Blacktip. Trophy fish are possible, from Bull Redfish to big Tarpon in season.

Anglers use spinning, baitcasting, and fly fishing gear. Live bait and lures both work well. Sight casting means spotting fish in clear water, then placing the bait ahead of them. Popping uses surface lures that splash to trigger strikes. Light trolling and bottom fishing near structure also produce bites.

Trips usually run on skiffs or bay boats with room for a few anglers. Travel time is short, which leaves more time to fish. Conditions are often family friendly, yet still rewarding for experienced anglers who enjoy technical shots. Bring sun protection, polarized sunglasses, non-marking shoes, snacks, and a camera. Captains typically supply tackle and safety gear, but confirm what’s included before you go.

Rules vary by location. Always check local fishing license and permit requirements. Review open seasons, harvest rules, and size or bag limits for each species. Some waters are catch-and-release only, and marine protected areas may be off-limits. When in doubt, ask your captain and follow best practices for safe handling and release.
