    (3 Hour Trip – Inshore)

    Best Family Fishing Trip!

My husband and I went out with our two boys (4yo and 6yo) with Captain Chris. We did a 3 hour in shore trip. It was perfect! Like no notes. Captain Chris was so great with our kids, and us as beginner fishermen. We learned so much and just had the best time. Highly recommend!

Flounder fishing targets a smart ambush predator that hides on sandy and muddy bottoms. These Flatfish blend into the seabed, then burst up to grab bait. Anglers love them for their firm, tasty fillets and for how hard they pull for their size.

Most Flounder fishing happens in inshore waters such as bays, estuaries, and flats. Drift fishing, where the boat moves with wind or tide, covers ground and finds active fish. Bottom fishing with live minnows, mullet, or shrimp works well. Jigs with soft plastics or bucktails also produce when you bounce them slowly along the bottom.

Trips are usually close to shore and on calmer water, which makes them great for beginners and families. Expect short runs, steady action around moving tides, and subtle bites that feel like a tap or extra weight. Bring sun protection, polarized sunglasses to spot bottom contours, non-slip shoes, and a small cooler if you plan to keep fish where it is allowed.

Rules for Flounder fishing vary by location and season. Always check local fishing license and permit requirements before you go. Review current seasons, size and bag limits, and method rules, including any restrictions on night fishing or gigging. When in doubt, ask your captain, and practice careful handling if releasing fish.
