Passeio de meio dia (sessão da manhã) • 2 adultosO capitão Miguel e o marinheiro Lino foram simplesmente fantásticos - simpáticos, envolventes e cheios de conhecimento sobre o Panamá, as águas locais, a vida selvagem, a história e, claro, a melhor forma de apanhar peixe! Navegámos 30 minutos além dos navios de carga na entrada do canal até à queda de 30 metros, onde fizemos corrico e fisgámos um atum-de-barbatanas em cerca de 5 minutos. As picadas foram constantes ao longo dos 90 minutos seguintes e trouxemos 4 atuns e um belo Dourado-do-mar para bordo. O Lino fileteou o peixe para nós, e acabámos por fazer um pequeno sashimi e ceviche a meio da manhã. Incrível! Estava a ficar muito calor, por isso fomos até Taboga para uma rápida visita, e depois regressámos. O melhor do Panamá!

Passeio de dia inteiro – Ilha Taboga • 4 adultosQue passeio incrível! Às 8h da manhã já tínhamos apanhado tantos peixes que começou a ficar rotineiro, então fomos à procura de peixes mais esquivos. O meu filho estava mesmo esperançoso em apanhar um dourado-do-mar como tinha conseguido anos atrás. Embora não tenha conseguido, acabámos por apanhar 3 espécies diferentes. O nosso capitão, Miguel, foi fantástico! Serviu-nos sashimi de atum fresco mesmo a bordo. Quando parámos em Taboga para almoçar, o restaurante para onde nos levou também confeccionou parte do nosso atum. Foi muito interessante ver tantos tipos diferentes de embarcações ao longo do dia e aprender mais sobre o que cada uma transportava. Obrigado por um dia inesquecível!

Sabem mesmo pescar, partilharam muita informação sobre o país e foram anfitriões maravilhosos!! Apanhámos um veleiro grande e um Dourado-do-mar com os quais fizeram um ceviche delicioso a bordo, e ainda levamos um pouco para o almoço na Ilha Toboga. Também apanhámos um atum com o qual prepararam um sashimi incrível, e ainda uma garoupa. Tivemos vários outros peixes na linha que cuspiram o anzol antes de os conseguir trazer a bordo. Não podíamos estar mais satisfeitos com a experiência a bordo do Blue Lobster com o Miguel e o Pooras. Recomendo o passeio de 8 horas porque cada momento foi simplesmente fantástico! Não teria querido perder nada desta experiência maravilhosa que nos proporcionaram!! Que dia incrível no mar!!!

Passeio de meio dia (sessão da tarde) • 6 adultosPassámos o melhor momento na nossa viagem de pesca. O passeio de barco foi rápido e muito divertido. O Miguel e o Boris montaram todo o equipamento de pesca enquanto nós simplesmente curtimos. Assim que um peixe mordeu a isca, foi a nossa hora de brilhar. Em determinado momento, as 4 linhas tinham peixe. Eles guiaram-nos e encorajaram-nos enquanto recolhíamos as linhas. Apanhámos 8 peixes no total, sendo um deles um Dourado-do-mar. O capitão Miguel e o Lino fizeram todos os possíveis para me colocar em cima do peixe, mas foi simplesmente um daqueles dias. Têm um conhecimento profundo da flora e fauna da região, bem como do país - por isso aprendi muito e vi alguma fauna selvagem fantástica enquanto tentava ter algo na linha. O Cpt. Miguel explicou constantemente o seu plano de ação e, na última hora, finalmente encontrámos peixe. Xaréu-comum e Cavala-espanhola acabaram por entrar para o barco e deliciei-me com um bom sashimi. Fishing in Panama during the rainy seaso

This week, we have been getting the first few rains of the season. This means nutrient-rich waters from the warmer South Pacific will attract microorganisms, which will then attract the upper stages of the food chain, in other words, bigger fish. Pelagics like tuna, mahi, sailfish, and Marlin will be our predominant bites until November.
This day, as we were passing the deepest waters on the way to the Pearl Islands, with an average of 200 feet deep waters, we encountered huge bait balls full of diving birds, which gave us the first indicator of fish around while deciding where to throw lines we spotted some dolphins. There's something that we can tell with dolphins: tuna. We started shifting our lures to cedar blocks on our trolling lines and had our spinning lines with poppers ready to cast them. Whenever we got a bite on the trolling Lines, we immediately cast those poppers and maximized tuna bites. Welcome to Panama game fishing mecca! Sail fish surpise!

The fishing species in Panama are pretty well marked mainly in 2 seasons:
The rainy season is in the summer; this time, the waters get warm, which is best for sea fishing. The other season is winter, which is not a cold winter (same temperatures as summer), but it's when the water gets chilly. And we focus on deep-water species.
However, between these marked fishing species seasons, there are unexpected species surprises! For example, since June, we've been getting a more active than usual number of sailfish on our bites.
From half-day trips to Extended trips, the extended South Pearl Islands and full-day Pearl Islands have the most sailfish catches. We practice catch-and-release for this species, and when possible, we board the species for a nice picture and then release it.
The most popular lures for attracting them have been Ballyhoo rigged with an artificial skirt and normal fake surface squids.
