Born and raised in Miami, Mo's been fishing these waterways as far back as he can remember. He is an active member of The Bonefish and Tarpon Trust, as well as a field contributor for the Coastal Angler magazine. Captain Mo has appeared on the World Fishing Network on several occasions, and is the host of the upcoming fishing show 'Tailing Silver.' Most days, you will find him enjoying the marvels of Biscayne Bay from the poling tower of his skiff.

Passeio de dia inteiro • 2 adultosHad an amazing 4 hour trip with Capt. Mo inshore fishing the flats around Key Biscayne. We tried for Tarpon, saw lots rolling and tailing but they just weren't biting our live crabs so we quickly changed to a light tackle topwater lure setup and got hooked on trout, snapper and some nice Jacks within minutes. Mo was professional, friendly, took great care of us and ensured that all of the caught fish was released unharmed. Great guy and a lot of fun to be around. Will definitely fish with him when we're back in Miami!

Day two with Sebastian from Spain and he wanted tarpon and bonefish on fly. Today there were no tarpon around so we focused on the bonefish flats. It was certainly slow but we kept working hard. At our last spot we found a ton of feeding, mudding bonefish and after a bunch of shots Sebastian got his bonefish on fly. It feels so good to score!

AM Report Today was the second consecutive day with two charters per day and once again we started off before daybreak with Jake, Jared and Jake from New Hampshire and Boston aboard before they hopped on their cruise to the Bahamas. Spot number one resulted in zero Tarpon activity although I was marking them on the Raymarine. We switched it up and caught some sea trout before changing spots. The last part of the day they ended up catching a few more fish and losing a big spinner shark at the very end. PM Report My afternoon trip was with Scott from Maryland. Last year Scott had booked me for a half day in the afternoon on Sunday and a full day on Tuesday and it was pure tarpon fishing the e tire time so now becoming a tarpon junkie that was the primary goal for Scott. We hit one tarpon spot and that's the only one we needed to fish because at that spot Scott hooked, fought and landed a 130 pound tarpon to replicate what transpired last year. Scott did a great job fighting this fish bowing to the fish every time it jumped and after an almost hour-long fight we got it to the boat for some nice pictures and a sweet goodbye.

Miami Winter Tarpon

Fishing today with Yuri from Russia was a lot of fun. He had booked me because he wanted to learn how to fish insore and I was more than happy to share my techniques with him. Since it has been cool in Miami I decided to run to South Beach to see if the migrating tarpon we're moving in yet but after spending some time off the beach the answer was a No. Deciding to fish close by and work our way back towards the marina on our four our trip the next spot was a magical spot since the first cast produced the first fish of the day. It was a special fish however because it was Yuri's first tarpon. After a number of jumps and a 20 minute fight on light tackle we released a nice 40 pound tarpon that left Yuri's arms sore and a big grin on his face. A few minutes later we hook the second tarpon but it came off after a long run. We switched over to some grass flats and used a number of different lures and techniques and Yuri caught sea trout, bluefish and a few mystery fish that would slam his lure but not get hooked. We ended the day with some fly casting lessons and he picked up the double haul rather quickly but with the wind increasing to 20 miles an hour it was not productive to have him cast in the open water for his first fish on fly. This was a nice day on the water today with great weather cool breeze and great company catching some nice fish.

Miami fishing blitz!

On a business trip from Virginia, Mike booked for a late morning trip to target bonefish but the weather didn't cooperate for bonefishing. Last night when we spoke the trip was up in the air as the forecast was calling for 20 mile an hour winds and lots of rain but it turned out we had surprisingly good weather for the first part of the trip. The short run to our first spot, and our only spot of the trip, produced constant action on spinner shark, ladyfish, quite a few trout, and constant bent rods and screaming drags. We tried to stay close to the marina as we could see some threatening weather building and eventually we had to get off the water and run back before the more intense parts of the storm hit us. It was a short but intense trip and tomorrow we're taking out his boss. No pressure!

Today I fished with Graham from the UK and what a great day we had. We started off under slick calm conditions looking for mullet schools off of South Beach but didn't find any. We fished the deeper grass flats using lures and it was on fire with fish on almost every cast. In a couple of hours we caught tons of trout, Barracuda, big mangrove snapper, jacks and big high jumping lady fish. At one point Graham hooked two big mangrove snappers on the same lure with one fish on each hook, it was amazing! Switching gears we caught some live bait and ran down to fish the creeks for snook but only had hit. With the changing of the tide we ran back up to South Beach found a bait school being busted and again, great action including the first mackerel school of the season. With our attention back on snook, Graham hooked, fought and lost a massive snook using a big live mullet. The day ended losing another nice fish before heading in. It was a great day with tons of fish. I love fall in Miami!

Bob is one of the owners of SaltLife and one of my biggest sponsors and him and his buddy climbed aboard for a few hours of fishing. The forecast called for 25 MPH winds but when arriving at the marina the winds were much lighter and my hopes were high. With mullet all around the marina I filled the live well with all the live bait we needed before Bob and Tim even showed up and once they arrived we were off. Slipping into a creek not far from the marina the action started right away with mullet schools being demolished by snook all around us. Bob piked up a nice mangrove snapper right off the bat and not long after he lands his first snook. A few hours later the action died down after losing another 3-5 more snook. The wind started as forecasted and we hit a couple of other spots, one producing hog snapper, mutton snapper and we lost a nice grouper before calling it a day. Congrats Bob!
