Captain Brandon is first class.  Great boat.  Highly recommend.

Brandon and Jack were great!  They were very professional and helpful, and extremely interested in making sure that we had a great experience!  They were very attentive and involved in keeping our lines baited and back in the water, and helping us bring in the fish.  We caught a lot of fish, which Jack cleaned for us.  We would recommend Lucky B to anyone looking for a great day of fishing!

I hired Lucky B Sportfishing because I read a lot of reviews and wanted the best chance of catching fish so I went with the company that had great ratings, photos of actual bluefin, lots of them, and a boat that would get us there quickly.

We arrived at 6:45am, Brandon met us at the docks, and introduced us to his deck hand Jack. We got on the boat, a nice 36 foot Yellowfin, and prepared for the day. We took off by 7:15, arrived at the targeted area in Mexico within an hour or so, and within 5 minutes of high speed trolling we landed our first Bluefin.

Brandon’s ability to keep his eyes on the horizon with binoculars in hand, and put us places Bluefin were biting; and Jacks hustle on the boat to get lines in, out, clean the fish and pack it in ice, was as good as it gets.

We caught 8 bluefin by 2:30. Each of them were UNITS. One was 160lbs. The others were 85-100 each.

The gear they use simply worked. Never lost a fish from any bad tackle or poor handling of the fish at the boat. Brandon was calm, cool, and made us look like better fisherman than we were. We had a great time and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to make a memory of a lifetime. Lucky B isn’t cheap, but getting 8 large bluefin and being back at the dock by 4pm, to me makes it all worth it. While this may be an unusually solid day on the water, even getting one or two of these would have been just as satisfying.

They also helped coordinate for us and get the fish picked up and dropped off to Fisherman’s Processing who turned around our 700lbs of Bluefin in vacuum sealed bags within the next day. We have so much Bluefin that we can feed several families for an entire year. And will!!

My wife, two sons and I spent a half day/afternoon over Memorial Day weekend with Brandon and Jack on the Lucky B fishing near the La Jolla area.  Brandon and Jack were great, extremely experienced, and very focused on getting us immediately on the boat and quickly out to our fishing spot.  The Lucky B is a very nice well kept newer boat with lots of power to get you to your fishing spot fast.  Once anchored, they had our poles geared up in a couple minutes, and first line in the water had a fish on within 20 seconds.  We caught about 16 fish collectively, and we lost way more than :).  Jack did a beautiful job filleting the fish we kept, and we had some outstanding fresh Bass with steak and barbecue the next two nights at our VRBO.  Thanks to both Brandon and Jack for the great experience!, something the family will always remember.  I would highly recommend the Lucky B to friends and family.

We had an amazing time with Brandon! We were not expecting to hit any tuna today but he found a big school of them (hooked 5 and ended up with 3). He was a great captain, had a super clean boat and was very knowledgeable about the overall experience! Will definitely book again with him!
