Cole booked a morning trip aboard Fishin Da Net with his friend Andrew, each with their respective child, Huck and Aubrey. My favorite trips are with children old enough to remember their first experience on Lake Michigan. The air and water was chilly early on. The sunshine warmed everyone up nicely as the morning progressed. Yesterday's storms scattered the fish so we had to work to find them. We did manage to land 6 nice coho salmon, 1 average size king salmon, and 1 small king salmon for the group to enjoy. Everyone, including the first mate Kim and captain yours truly, had a wonderful time on the water enjoying the company along with the sun. The kiddos even got a little nap in too! Jan booked a trip aboard Fishin Da Net for some May coho salmon action. The action was fast and furious indeed! Jan and Jim landed their limit of 9 coho salmon and 1 king salmon in just under an hour of fishing time. The company was great and so was the fishing! Thanks, Jan for booking the trip.

Yesterday morning, Gary booked a charter trip aboard Fishin Da Net wanting to learn more about how we fish for salmon on Lake Michigan here in Port Washington. He recently moved to the area from Washington state. He has lots of experience fishing salmon in the Pacific northwest but realized our fishing techniques here for salmon are quite different. Thus, he booked a charter to learn about the quirks we have here in Wisconsin. First mate Todd and I explained everything we did and the rationale behind our choices to coax the salmon to bite our lures. Gary said he enjoyed the trip and learned much while reeling in his limit of 4 king salmon and 1 coho salmon to Da Net! Yesterday morning, Mike and his wife and three children stopped for a day in Port Washington after traveling from Georgia to experience what Lake Michigan has to offer. They battled some rough yet fishable seas and heavy rain during the ride back to the harbor to step up toe to toe with big king salmon and coho salmon. We ended up bringing 4 king salmon and 2 coho salmon to Da Net. The three biggest fish were all in the 15-17 pound range which means big salmon filets to feed the family for quite some time. After a big northeast blow yesterday, new to Fishin Da Net customer Michael rescheduled his charter he originally booked for Friday. We were blessed with much calmer seas than yesterday, and he was rewarded with a limit catch of 3 king salmon and 2 coho salmon. Thank you Michael for rescheduling for today, and I hope to see you again! We found active fish in 80-120 feet of water. Spoons and flasher & fly both took fish.

Late afternoon, on Saturday, June 7 new to Fishin Da Net charter customers Tanya, Connor, and Austin hopped on board to enjoy a charter fishing experience in Port Washington. They had a great time sharing stories and catching fish. They brought 12 coho salmon, 1 king salmon, and 1 rainbow trout to Da Net to bring home with them. We also released one small coho salmon to grow. Fish were caught on a variety of lures, including size 00 orange dodger with a peanut fly, 8 inch flasher with a fly, and spoons. Depths of 25-40 feet of water were what we targeted for the coho salmon. We moved to deeper water in 90-110 feet of water for the king salmon for the last hour of the trip.
