First Yellow fin tuna of the season

What a spectacular day out on the water! We left the marina this morning and headed south. Just about 8 miles out, the ocean came alive—we spotted massive activity with hundreds of seabirds diving and tunas crashing the surface. We immediately got the lines in the water, and it didn’t take long. Just 20 minutes into the troll, fish on! After an intense and thrilling 30-minute battle, our guests successfully brought a beautiful Bigeye Tuna on board! To make the day even more unforgettable, shortly after the catch, hundreds of dolphins joined the party, putting on an incredible show right alongside the boat. An efficient, high-yield 4-hour offshore excursion was executed on Earth Day. Despite challenging sea conditions characterized by some wind and wave activity, the expedition successfully located and boated a high-value target. The highlight of the trip was landing a substantial **15 kg tuna** shortly after arriving at the productive zone. The target fishing grounds were located a significant distance from our standard baseline, requiring a extended transit toward the **eastern sectors of the island. Navigating into a headwind with rolling waves slowed the initial transit, pushing the crew to search further out than usual. The decision to commit to the eastern grounds paid off immediately. Minutes after reaching the coordinated coordinates and deploying the lines, active feeding signs were spotted. Standard high-energy fight exacerbated by the windy conditions and boat movement. The fish was successfully brought alongside and boated with minimal recovery time. Finding the fish quickly upon arrival was critical to the success of this compressed 4-hour window. The long run to the east minimized hunting time on-site, allowing the crew to capitalize immediately on a hot bite despite the rougher surface conditions. The boat and gear performed flawlessly under pressure, making this Earth Day trip a highly efficient success.
