Mahi Madness

This November full moon was a super moon and yesterday's bite was super hot! from double header Yellowfin to big Blue Marlin the action was non-stop! We headed out early on a 6 hour (3/4 Day) Charter with a lovely group The action started quickly with some Yellowfin on light tackle and as the conventional gear came out the bite got even better. It's always a good trip when you have more fish on than people to reel! shortly after we had a frisky Blue Marlin show up which resulted in a clean release. all in all it was a great day with great people! The Yellowfin bite has been on fire for the last month on recent trips we've consistently landed fish in the 40-50lb range and seen a few in the triple digits. Brett and the crew had a great day out at the banks with Capt. Stephen and Nicholas. The day started the right way with some light tackle action catching Blackfin Tuna on the spinning gear. This would come in handy later on as they switched gear and brought out the drifting (chunking) outfits. It wasn't very long before they had the guests strapped in and tight on a decent sized Yellowfin. Unfortunately the taxman won this battle and what would have been a decent 50+ pound fish ended up coming aboard as just a head. Not all was lost however, as just minutes after, on the very next drift they were tight again and this one would make it to the boat unharmed... well, until it met the fish bat. Just as the crew were about to wind down and head in the man-o-wars started charging hard to the east of the bank so Capt. Stephen headed over to check it out. That would result in two beautiful Mahi and the perfect way to end a trip. Back at the dock there was smiles all around and lots of fish to go with them. This could be you! why wait?
