June Fishing Report – One More Drift Charters
June was an **epic month for striped bass** on Long Island Sound. The bigger fish really started showing up on the deeper reefs, and when the tide and conditions lined up, the striper action was hard to beat.
We spent a lot of time working **deeper structure and reefs**, targeting striped bass with light tackle and putting the rods in our customers’ hands. There were some quality fish around, with plenty of hard-fighting bass keeping everyone busy.
As June progressed, **black sea bass numbers really started picking up** as well. Mixed in with the stripers, the sea bass provided plenty of action and kept the rods bent when we moved around looking for the bigger bass.
The best part of June was seeing anglers get to experience these fish the way they should be caught — **casting, jigging and working the structure instead of sitting around waiting for a trolling rod to go off.**
The deeper reefs are producing, the black sea bass are getting more active, and summer fishing is officially underway.
**June was a good one. July should be even better.**
