? Fathers Day morning brought a different pace, but it was a huge success nonetheless! After a massive bug hatch during the day and an even bigger mayfly hatch to come that night the walleyes had no shortage of food. The fish were definitely full, and the bite slowed down compared to previous trips. Even so, they were still willing to eat for anglers who stayed patient and kept working the program. With two couples aboard looking for the full Lake Erie Walleye Experience, the morning turned into a fantastic outing filled with great company, beautiful weather, and enough action to keep everyone engaged. While it wasn't a race to the limit, it was one of those trips that reminded us that success isn't always measured by speed—it's measured by smiles, laughs, and fish hitting the deck throughout the day. The spread stayed consistent with Big Fish Tuff Tackle Co. TruTrip 50s on the corners paired with BADMO LURES Arrowhead spoons. On the Off Shore Tackle Company OR-12 planer boards, Reef Runner Tackle Company Deep Lil Rippers 45/45 with guppy weights continued to take fish. The Dipsey Divers pulling J7s on a 3 setting, 52 feet back, chipped in throughout the morning and helped put together a respectable catch despite the challenging post-hatch conditions. For both couples, the trip was exactly what a day on Lake Erie should be—great fishing, great conversation, beautiful scenery, and fresh Lake Erie walleyes headed home for the dinner table. They also left with some local favorite Bayside Provisions breading mix, making sure the Lake Erie experience continued long after the boat returned to the dock. Slow by recent standards? Maybe. But by every other measure, this charter was a tremendous success.
