Flounder Pounding — Surface Feeding Acti

Had a slow monday , great tuesday and weds and an ok thursday catch of Flounder with 1-3 keeper size most trips and today Friday a jumbo 6 lb Flounder and 20” red alg woth half a dozen throw backs . Pretty good Flounder bite most trips with more Redfish starting to show up in yhe creeks and at the inlet ..

Hot July fishing , with some days just catching smaller flounder and maybe a keeper or two , other days catching doormat flounder 4-8lbs and some Redfish up to 15lbs . Tough fishing some days and yet , some epic catches other days . Fall is more consistent , but booking a charter now should be booking an experience , not just going out and catching fish every time soley becuase if it was easy and no challenge there wouldn’t be any sense of awe nor accomplishment that happens when the fish do cooperate . We’ve seen dolphins this week in 2 feet of water, sea turtles and sharks , caught doible digit flounder most trips and had mumtiple redfish this week over 10lbs. Kinda sad when someone takes their first charter with me and they “just “ catch a handful of Flounder too short to keep and decide theyve had a bad day . They dont seem to take account nor take responsibility for the fish they miss, nor appreciate the beauty of the inlet , the water , the wildlife and the effort to provide them the best shot at catching the great fish that inhabit our inlet. Inshore fiahing in calm water for a shot at a nice lunch or dinner and maybe a trophy fish has kept me enthralled for almost 40 years . Love to share the experience with folks that understand “ fishing doesnt always mean keeping fish” but the experience should always be fun . Its been an up and down bite this week with some incredibly fun days with some great people .

Caught around 15 Flounder , 2 keepers and a 5lber pulled off at the boat alomg with a nice 20” puppy drum . Pretty good action today !!
