If you're ready to enjoy fishing in Stock Island, look no further than Captain Rio's Charters. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Rio knows them forwards and back.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Great Barracuda, Cero Mackerel, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Black Grouper, Gag Grouper, Hogfish, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Lesser Amberjack, Lionfish, Little Tunny (False Albacore), Atlantic Mackerel, Amberjack, and plenty more.
You can expect to do some trolling, or maybe something more specialized in this area. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.
Captain Rio specializes in teaching spearfishing with almost 30 years of experience in the Florida Keys. All the gear included.
Capt. Rio welcomes anglers of all ages, including kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea to stay fueled throughout your trip!
You'll be dropping lines from a 32' Sportfishing with space for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's always wise to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

He knows so much about the area, it was like having a personal tour guide and fishing guide all in one. We got out to the site and within 15 minutes of dropping anchor we were catching fish. He has a great personality which helps make the trip a great experience. 5 stars!

Our biggest fish got shared with a barricade, then we rigged for the barricade with bait fish we caught. We then hooked and lost said barricade because it snapped the hook. Don't believe, see pics. Pictured is just what we kept, we caught more.

Great Skipper, we caught fish and had a great time with Capt. Rio! This is no lie! Our biggest fish got shared with a barricade, then we rigged for the barricade with bait fish we caught.
