Who better to take you out than an experienced, native guide? Captain Raymond Wheatley has been fishing these waters his whole life and decided to start guiding in his retirement. He loves nothing more than getting out on the water, and hopes to share his passion with you, as he lets you in on some of the tricks of the trade to help you fill the boat.
Up to 5 guests are welcome aboard the 24' Haynie Ho center console to get your fish on. The light, agile vessel will whizz you away to the productive fishing grounds in no time, while the wireless trolling motor will get you to the skinniest of waters without spooking the fish. Make yourself at home on board and fill the captain's cooler with your own drinks and snacks, and away you go.
Get ready for a thrilling day out as you go after a range of exciting and delicious fish that call these waters home. Follow the tailing Redfish feeding birds and slicks for Speckled Trout then target the bottoms for Flounder, or fill the boat with Sheepshead, Drum, and more! Each of these creatures will provide plenty of action as well as the promise of a culinary delight to take back to shore.
At the end of the trip, Capt. Raymond will clean and fillet your catch, so there's nothing for you to worry about. All you need to do is grab your fishing license and you're good to go. Our guide took us to a place in West Galveston bay where he had been catching trout close to the rocks on shrimp under a popping cork. We caught lots of fish, mostly non keeper and not good species but was a fun trip. My only comment is if that kind of structure is not producing, why continue to fish it all day which is what we did. I wanted to see all kinds of different areas just to learn more about the Galveston Bay Area but we never left that structure and ended up with 1 trout, 1 sheepshead, and one other species I can’t remember that we kept. We caught lots of “other” species and a few undersized trout and redfish but I am disappointed we really never left his primary ares in spite of having numerous other boats in the same area! And no real either quantity or quality of fish! We stayed on certain spots for more than 30 minutes with no fish and we finally asked him to make a move! But again, we never left his original area! Our first trip with him and I am not sure he did not want to show us his better spots but he truly is paid to put us on fish and we really did not accomplish that! Great guy and fun but I think we stayed in that one area all day when we should have moved when he realized there were no real fish in the area.

Captain Raymond was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the areas we were fishing. Captain Raymond went above and beyond to make sure we had keeper fish, overall our experience was fun and exciting. We will definitely be coming back and booking another trip with him. 10 stars

Sorry guys just tried to stay out of the heavy winds to give us a chance at some fish. I would take you guys to any spot if I would’ve thought the wind would allow but yes those rocks have been hot.
