East Coast Charters – Consuelo 

Had a great day fishing, got 3 barracuda in 1 1/2 hours. Quiet for a little while and then got about a 40 lbs king fish. The captain,Peter and Joel (hopefully I pronounced it correctly)did a great job of driving and handling the fish. I think they should have a bigger cooler, went to take pictures of the catch and the barracuda were in the cooler were curled up (because cooler is not big enough.

Had a great time! Fishing started out slow but captain found them and we ended up catching many fish. My boys and I had a great time as he was very friendly, accommodating, and put us on fish multiple times. I look forward to fishing with him again!! Very good experience.

I was actually skeptical about starting at 9 AM, but figured the locals knew how that worked so I went with it. After taking Dramamine 30 minutes before my trip and riding for 45 minutes on the fishing boat, I was sick as hell. Not normal for me. Three or 4 foot waves at that time of day. I’m not sure you could catch anything. Just my opinion.

We had a great time with the Consuelo. Captain Bito and John Carlos were really good. They tried as best they could to put us on fish but it just didn’t work out! That’s why it’s called “fishing” not “catching”!! I don’t understand why people leave bad reviews just because they didn’t catch anything. They aren’t true fishermen!! I would highly recommend booking with them and we will book with them again! Keep your hooks wet and your line tight!

Do Not Rent This Boat!! While the captain and deck hand were nice guys, we NEVER had a chance to catch anything big. I have been fishing all over the Caribbean, Central & South America and up and down both coasts of the US. We simply did not go out far enough to have a chance at any Billfish. Land was very close in sight the entire time. The teasers on the bait were old and faded, and the trolling speed was a far above were we should have been. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. Do Not Rent This Boat!!!!

I have gone deep sea fishing multiple times. I was excited. I never gone fishing in DR before. Well I could of saved myself some money and fished off the Malecón. I would of caught more fish. Now I’m not upset we didn’t catch but one fish in 7 hours. I’m upset We did not change up anything we threw out 4 lines going about 20 miles per hour. It’s just me and the crew of two so all they had to worry about was me. We literally road out 3.5 hours when we slowed down to turn around we caught a fish. I never have caught fish like this we didn’t drift for a minute slow down or anything. I paid for an expensive boat ride. If you just want an expensive boat ride then use them but if you trying to catch fish you may want to go with someone else. I was trying to be patient like hey this is their country they know the waters. I should of gone over to Punta Caña where they have more reviews and crews that actually know the waters. Never again will I go here and fish!
